What's the shipping price?

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 May 2017 - 05:18 PM)

Yeah, but it's cheaper than all the Hong Kong sellers running at $65+

Titan Masters is filled with false advertising, Grax doesn't make any figure invisible and Xort doesn't do anything with gravity. Maybe they'll be in the Transformer toys of tomorrow which will be actual robots with AI.

Loki makes life interesting. "I HAVE A PLAN FOR GETTING BACK THOR'S HAMMER!! HE'LL NEED TO WEAR THIS WEDDING DRESS!"

@  Echowarrior : (26 May 2017 - 09:16 PM)

Thor was a great guy. Same as most of the Asgard. Loki was a jerk, though.

@  wonko the sane? : (26 May 2017 - 07:21 PM)

I think thor was just too smart to NOT call us stupid next to him.

@  Pennpenn : (26 May 2017 - 07:18 PM)

Six of one, half a dozen of the other?

@  wonko the sane? : (26 May 2017 - 07:17 PM)

I always interpreted that scene to mean that asgardians weren't capable of breaking down problems in the same way as humans.

@  Pennpenn : (26 May 2017 - 06:58 AM)

I mean, SG1 was a good show on balance. One of my favourite things was Thor admitting he found humans good to keep around because they so often came up with stupid ideas that nevertheless worked out.

@  Whirl Maximus : (26 May 2017 - 05:59 AM)

Those episodes were 1969 and 2010.

@  Whirl Maximus : (26 May 2017 - 05:59 AM)

Stargate sg1 was loosely based on the movie, it thrived on continuity it was impressive how old situations and solutions would come back in unexpected ways. Continuum had it's villain use the characters own solution in two previous episodes against them.

@  Pennpenn : (26 May 2017 - 05:39 AM)

And yeah, name is based on a part of my surname. Can't remember why I picked it. Lost to memories of the primordial early 2000s.

@  Pennpenn : (26 May 2017 - 05:37 AM)

Like how Abydos in the movie is in another galaxy on the far side of the universe, but Abydos in SG1 is the closest world to Earth (and that was the only reason the gate could still get there) and even getting to other galaxies was impossible with the normal gates.

@  Pennpenn : (26 May 2017 - 05:35 AM)

I was very tired when I said that, but what I meant was a lot of stuff that is in the original Stargate movie is contradicted a lot in Stargate SG1.

@  unluckiness : (26 May 2017 - 05:29 AM)

OBJECTION

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (25 May 2017 - 10:08 PM)

No, I am referring to before Beast Wars: Uprising. I swear Swindle was a lawyer in a story before "A Brush With Infamy".

@  Telly : (25 May 2017 - 09:47 PM)

i cant get the link to work for the life of me. just go to the wiki and type "a brush with infamy" in the search box and itll come up

@  Telly : (25 May 2017 - 09:40 PM)

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (25 May 2017 - 09:25 PM)

I swear I've read the story but now I forget which one it is.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (25 May 2017 - 09:25 PM)

When has G1 Swindle been a lawyer before?

@  Rycochet : (25 May 2017 - 07:20 PM)

All I know about PennPenn is he's so good they named him twice.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (25 May 2017 - 07:02 PM)

Nope.. Pennpenn is actually a Prinny dood!

@  Foffy : (25 May 2017 - 06:47 PM)

I wonder if Pennpenn is related to Sean Penn.

http://www.allspark....musical-scores/

One downside is that music by Johnny Douglas won't be featured, but from what Rob told me, it seems only the generic rock-disco theme will be left out as that was done for Spider-Man. Apparently Johnny left the show very early on so few themes that he composed specifically for Transformers ended up being reworked by Rob.

All in all, over a decade of legal hassle, we're FINALLY getting this stuff! :)

Never thought I'd see the day!

So what's missing, then? "Generic rock-disco" meaning the stuff Jazz used to play with his speaker powers?

Yeah, that's the one. Here's what he told me:

No, unfortunately those tracks won't be included. There were a few cues Johnny wrote that were used, but the music for the series was revamped when I came on right at the beginning, and nearly every cue was mine in those shows, although the credits were messed up in post. I wrote perhaps 15 hrs total of new music in creating the shows. He did write the My Little Pony theme, and did some great orchestration on it. He was a talented writer.

Note that he's speaking for the shows in general, not just Transformers.

Does this include the actual songs from Jem?  If so, that alone makes this worth it.

All right! I really like the BGM in the G1 'toon. Animation as a whole has improved by leaps and bounds since 1985, but they sure don't score TV cartoons with full orchestras anymore.

It. Is. About. Time.

Perhaps more than any character moment or episode, it was the music that stayed with me most firmly from the G1 cartoon. Which is a pretty neat thing considering I saw it so sporadically. I can't wait!

Much agreed. While I'm slightly more excited for the MLP portion of this, really looking forward to the instrumentals getting released.

As much as I love the G1 music, I can only hope this will open the door for G1 Thundercats soundtrack to get a full release as well!

I can't help but feel this news would have been even better announced at Botcon a few days ago.

The Generic Rock-Disco Theme makes me nostalgic for Inspector Gadget music.

Great news. G.I. Joe was an earlier series than Transformers though and may have had a lot more Johnny Douglas score, including almost every cue that used the main theme. I know I've seen people who claim M.A.S.S. Device was entirely scored by Douglas. That aired right before Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends Season 3 in 1983. Then the next Joe series and the first Transformers series debuted in 1984 at the same time. That M.A.S.S. Device music was re-used frequently throughout the series. When you say that "only the rock disco theme" from Spider-Man might not be included, does that mean the other Douglas scoring from G.I. Joe WILL be released?

Is it realistic we're going to get 15 hours of music released? I do think that total probably includes everything Walsh did beyond these 4 core series, like D&D, Inhumanoids, etc.

I also wonder how they'll handle the re-used tracks. Joe and Transformers shared a lot of tracks. Will they be repeated on two different albums, or just put with the series they appeared in first, if that can even be determined? Or will this all be a generic Hasbro set that does not associate tracks with specific shows?

is this the generic disco theme?

Yup. You can hear its very first use here:
http://www.dailymoti...m/video/x2j9ojz

Fast forward to 2:16.

And it wouldn't be until "Auto-Bop" the theme was used so heavily as in this episode:
http://www.dailymoti...town_shortfilms

:)

When you say that "only the rock disco theme" from Spider-Man might not be included, does that mean the other Douglas scoring from G.I. Joe WILL be released?

The way I understood, his only themes that'll be included are the ones that Rob reworked. I'm only sure about the generic rock-disco theme as that one was done before Rob began working for Marvel/Sunbow productions.
