Interesting. I can kinda see that. I'm still debating whether that really is katakana "ke". Looks more like "ku". And the subtype "u" looks weird, too.
I thought it was a sloppily written katana "i", making the whole thing read as "Oukeii"
It just looks sloppily written. I guess some Japanese folks have terrible handwriting, just like us.
