So if anyone wants to ask my D&D characters Talis (Avariel Cleric) and Akane (Hobgoblin Monk) anything, I guess this thread can be for that now.

Oh hey, that Megaman character actually looks like he should be the boss of a stage where the BGM is "Burn to the ground".
Don't.

So, I got the Mega Man Legacy Collection. While it's fun playing through the old levels, the REAL fun part is that you can fight the bosses on their own. I can finally say I've beaten Quick Man... Even though I still can't get through his level.
Capcom really should have put 9 and 10 in there, though, just so we can have all the 8-bit games in the series.

Okay, so since this... I'm not going to say week, since I don't know how long I want to keep it going, but this... Whatever's topic is Mega Man. I think I'm gonna start with my top twelve Robot Masters. Why top twelve? Because I like to go TWO steps beyond. Aaaaanyways...
12. Air Man
Ah, Air Man. For some reason, I can't beat this guy... At least not with Leaf Shield. He's actually easier to beat with the Buster. Seriously. Anyway, part of the reason I like him is the "Airman ga Taosenai" song. Seriously.
11. Sheep Man
Yes, Sheep Man made this list. No, I was not drunk while I made this list. Anyway, Sheep Man is goofy as hell, and that's why I like him. The weapon you get from him is pretty terrible, but considering the guy is a walking reference to Phillip K. Dick, I can forgive that.
10. Tengu Man
Mega Man 8 was... Okay. It wasn't really as good as the rest of the classic series, the voice acting was terrible and the phrase "Jump! Jump! Jump! Slide! Slide! Slide!" is burned into my mind, but whatever. Tengu Man is just plain cool. His design is pretty badass, and he has a cool hat. Hell, this guy is SO cool, he was in TWO games. TWO.
9. Enker
Ah, the first Mega Man Killer. The Mega Man Killers are awesome, and I flipped the hell out when they were released as DLC for Mega Man 10. We finally got to see their sprites in color, which was a reason to rejoice. Anyway, Enker's got a strong "Japanese spirit" even though he looks more like a western knight. Go fig.
8. Knight Man
Speaking of knights, here's Knight Man. Yeah, he's kind of laughably easy if you have Yamato Man's weapon, but he has a cool design. He's apparently defeated more than a thousand other robots in duels. I actually like ALL the designs from 6, but Knight Man's my favorite for some reason.
7. Quick Man
Ah, Quick Man. I've never been able to beat your level, but I have been able to beat YOU because of the Mega Man Legacy Collection's boss database. He's a tough boss to beat, especially since his "weakness" only takes off half of his health and you're forced to use the other weapons. Hell, the otherwise OP Metal Blade does NOTHING to him. At all.
6. Skull Man
All right, with THAT out of the way, Skull Man is pretty cool. He's a decently tough fight, and he makes better use of his weapon than you ever could. Seriously, Dive Man will kick your ass even IF you use Skull Man's weapon.
5. Tornado Man
I really, really, REALLY like the Mega Man 9 Robot Masters. It's the game that got me back into the series, and it's still my personal favorite entry in the entire franchise. Tornado Man is basically a wind-themed Quick Man design was. You know, there's an unusually high amount of wind-themed Robot Masters on this list.
4. Shadow Man
I'll get this off my chest: when it comes to pirates vs. ninjas, I usually go with pirates. I make an exception for Mega Man, because Shadow Man is awesome. No one knows where the hell he came from - Dr. Wily just found him and reprogrammed him. That's all we know.
3. Ballade
Yep, you knew that another Mega Man Killer would be on this list. He's basically a proto-Bass - a robot created solely for the purpose of being Mega Man's arch-rival. I also like how his "super mode" is basically him putting on shades. His heroic sacrifice is just a bonus.
2. Punk
And finishing up the Mega Man Killers, we have Punk. He's just plain badass. The dude can roll up into a buzzsaw! However, even he can't top...
1. Galaxy Man
Galaxy Man is just plain fun. He's got a cool, genuinely robotic-looking design, Astro Man-esque LED lights for a face, and he turns into a frickin' flying saucer. Plus, he somehow changes colors while you fight him. Trippy.

I suck so badly at Mega Man 9 I can't even beat Splash Woman's stage...
Posted 04 May 2016 - 04:40 PM
Mega Man 9 is one of the only classic Mega Man games I'm actually good at level-wise, really. Jewel Man's level is still a bitch, though.

Meanwhile, I beat MM10 with everyone except Proto Man thanks to easy mode...
I'm so much better at the X series. I've beaten all of those. Even X7.

I think the Mega Man X series is slightly easier because the dash helps you jump further than Mega Man's pathetic jumps in the classic series.
Speaking of Mega Man 9, which has my favorite batch of Robot Masters, here's Hitoshi Ariga's takes on six of them!
Sadly, there are no scans of Magma Man or Galaxy Man's page... Yet.
Some of the nice touches I noticed are that:
1. Jewel Man's fingertips have been turned into jeweler's drills
2. Splash Woman's helmet has been given a few notches to make it look like a bob haircut and her tail looks more realistic
3. Concrete Man's shoulders rotate like a cement truck's drum and his feet are basically concrete blocks (which is hilarious)
4. Hornet Man's Hornet Chasers have compound eyes, his mouthplate looks like closed insect mandibles and his legs have gained rocket boosters so he can fly
5. Plug Man's plug arm has changed into a different kind of plug adapter
6. Tornado Man's leg-fins can rotate upwards so it looks more "natural" when he spins his legs around for his tornado flight and his head-fins can adjust for aerodynamics.
Ariga is awesome.

He looks more like Quick Man than MegaMix Quick Man does!
Seriously, I like most of Ariga's redesigns, but I don't get why he made Quick Man so much bulkier.

He also designed Pokemon! Seriously! He designed Mega Beedrill, Pangoro, Inkay, Malamar, Honedge, Doublade, Aegislash, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura and Aurorus!
