@  Nevermore : (28 February 2020 - 04:45 AM)

Did I say that? I must have been joking.

@  Sabrblade : (27 February 2020 - 11:46 PM)

And you say you have no sense of humor, Nevermore. ;)

@  Nevermore : (27 February 2020 - 09:07 PM)

Gonzo, start a thread in the main "Transformers Discussion" forum with that information in the title instead.

@  Sabrblade : (27 February 2020 - 08:33 PM)

Gonzo, please don't go spoiling things like that in the chat box.

@  TheMightyMol... : (27 February 2020 - 05:53 PM)

Neat.

@  Darth Gonzo : (27 February 2020 - 05:53 PM)

Tarn is in Cyberverse.

@  Benbot : (27 February 2020 - 10:24 AM)

I really don't like that guy. Show the toys, not your face. I'm tired of looking at him.

@  RCX : (27 February 2020 - 09:25 AM)

Toy Galaxy is excellent.

@  Benbot : (27 February 2020 - 09:03 AM)

I think you'll be save in Greenland.

@  CORVUS : (27 February 2020 - 01:12 AM)

Toy Galaxy is my favorite overall toy-related channel on YouTube.

@  fourteenwings : (26 February 2020 - 11:29 PM)

Last year's coverage via Toy YouTubers was brilliant. However, since YouTube's new (unfortunately necessary) guidelines the companies barely invited any of them back, so all we get is super-popular collector's info.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (26 February 2020 - 09:19 PM)

If it weren't for Toy Galaxy's coverage video, I would not have known about the Defenders of the Earth figures. New toys of Flash Gordon, The Phantom, and Mandrake the Magician? In 2020? I would have said you were smoking something strong.

@  Nevermore : (26 February 2020 - 06:32 PM)

So the question is... has Madagascar closed down all its ports yet?

@  Nevermore : (26 February 2020 - 06:31 PM)

A couple that got infected attended a Carnival event with over 300 people in attendance.

@  Nevermore : (26 February 2020 - 06:25 PM)

So the Corona virus keeps getting closer to where I live. Several confirmed cases in my federal state already.

@  Steevy Maximus : (26 February 2020 - 02:20 PM)

Man, only having collector sites to get Toy Fair news from sucks. Did you know there is a 4" line of kids figures for the new Avengers game coming?

@  Dekafox : (26 February 2020 - 11:54 AM)

Since Omega already exists they could name it Auntie

@  Otaku : (26 February 2020 - 10:07 AM)

Oh, and one last Titan, provided we can fudge things a bit to include a character from Transformers: Animated; how about something at least resembling TF:A Omega Supreme?

@  Otaku : (26 February 2020 - 10:05 AM)

How about they find a way to make a mold they can use for both Broadside and Tidal Wave?

@  Maximus Ambus : (26 February 2020 - 02:13 AM)

Optimus Maximus, the mysterious titan of the Arisen, also Iaconus from Cyberverse.

@  TriBlurr : (25 February 2020 - 12:41 AM)

I think the only other Titan class character that would interest me after Scoponok would be Tidal Wave

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 February 2020 - 07:34 PM)

A Titan would have more room for other toys to hang out, assuming one has the table space for it.

@  Darth Gonzo : (24 February 2020 - 03:32 PM)

Play wise which would be better a Commander Class Aircraft Carrier Mode Broadside or a Titan Class Aircraft Carrier Mode Broadside?

@  PlutoniumBoss : (24 February 2020 - 01:53 PM)

I'd be interested in a deluxe or voyager Fort Max in Armada flashback red-and-green.

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 February 2020 - 10:49 AM)

I'd honestly be more interested in Commander-class Scorponok and Fort Max. I don't have the space for Titans.

@  Maximus Ambus : (24 February 2020 - 10:44 AM)

Make Commander class city bots to annoy collectors too

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 February 2020 - 10:43 AM)

Make two Broadsides. One Voyager-sized that only turns into a jet, and one Titan-sized that only turns into an aircraft carrier. Piss off everyone on both sides of the scale.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (24 February 2020 - 10:41 AM)

Since they seem to also go by the oh-so holy cartoon scale thing, he'd probably be a Commander Class figure.

@  wonko the sane? : (24 February 2020 - 10:34 AM)

Broadside is an aircraft carrier. He should probably be metroplex sized.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (24 February 2020 - 10:21 AM)

Broadside's more of a Commander Class.

@  Darth Gonzo : (24 February 2020 - 04:47 AM)

I think Broadside should be the next Titan Class figure.

@  wonko the sane? : (23 February 2020 - 09:38 PM)

I tan nicely! But also have a family history of cancer... so... yeah, pasty for me it is.

@  Otaku : (23 February 2020 - 04:22 PM)

I really do begin to get sunburned after about 5 minutes of direct exposure, nowadays.  Side effect of already being pasty then going on a particular medication.  Yay?

@  TheMightyMol... : (23 February 2020 - 01:36 PM)

It makes me burn. Accursed daystar.

@  Maximus Ambus : (23 February 2020 - 01:33 PM)

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy....

@  Vexwing : (22 February 2020 - 03:26 AM)

I watched L.I.L.Y.Cat on there a while back, it was surprisingly good.

@  Steevy Maximus : (21 February 2020 - 08:47 PM)

@Dekafox, no DTP, but they DO have LILY Cat ;)

@  CORVUS : (21 February 2020 - 08:46 PM)

For me, it's "chocolate therapy".

@  wonko the sane? : (21 February 2020 - 08:32 PM)

Tonight dough owns my soul.

@  CORVUS : (21 February 2020 - 07:28 PM)

Stupid, delicious Ben & Jerry's.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (21 February 2020 - 06:42 PM)

Ahh. I remember watching Bubblegum Crisis 2020 or whatever.

@  Dekafox : (21 February 2020 - 06:25 PM)

Next you'll say they have Dominion Tank Police and L.I.L.Y.Cat

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 February 2020 - 06:06 PM)

Bubblegum Crisis, going by several shouts down.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (21 February 2020 - 05:38 PM)

BGC?

@  Bass X0 : (21 February 2020 - 02:33 PM)

Enjoy the fudgy icing of this Hostess Cup Cake!

@  Telly : (21 February 2020 - 02:31 PM)

harlock is on tubi as well. not dubbed though :(

@  Rhinox42 : (21 February 2020 - 01:19 PM)

Blugh, the english dub of BGC is atrocious.

@  wonko the sane? : (21 February 2020 - 07:02 AM)

I might need to update my software, or they face regional limitations, cause I found no evidence of either.

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 February 2020 - 10:31 PM)

DUDE! Starcom and COPS are on Tubi too!

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 February 2020 - 09:29 PM)

Spiffy! The english dub of Bubblegum Crisis on Tubi. It's gotten so hard to find these oldies on modern streaming services.

What ties are you referring to?  If being friends with people who work from FunPub is "ties to Fun Publications" then a lot of us have ties to them.

In addition, I'm pretty sure he's previously done some hand painted mockups for BotCon exclusives (definitely at least the Vehicon redeco Decepticon Clones troop builder from 2014 which he posted online after the show, but possibly more.) please disregarrrrddddd I'm not saying that I don't have ties; I wrote an Ask Vector Prime answer. Just that his almost identical pro Fun Pub response twice... I dunno, it just rubbed me the wrong way.

It was a bad response on my part to directly call it out, though. He's a member of the forum and he should be able to express his opinion like anyone else. Sorry, Randy.

First, why is this announcement tied to the name "Cybertron Con"?  That name isn't mentioned in the press release.

Second, it sounds like an entirely different sort of thing than Botcon.  I doubt it has any impact.

Because Powered Convoy is Chicken Littling about it.  I'm pretty sure these don't actually impact each other, at least until I hear otherwise.

Brian Savage fastened me to a railroad track once.

That's what happens when you don't pay the internet processing fee.

Fall of Cybertron will blow your mind. That is all.

Whoa there. Slow down, turbo. You are incorrect regarding the "mockups". Those were customs done by Cheets prior to the convention. If you're gonna call someone out, at least have the facts in order.

Bonus comment: You'll not find a Fun Pub contributor more likely to call out decencies in the way they operate sometimes than I, but I agree with Randy that losing a dedicated yearly convention to these exhibitions would be a loss.

I'm not seeing a mixup of Exhibition and Convention. After all, the "Con" in Club Con didn't mean Convention. ;)

Maybe the club will have to rent the license from this new company instead of Hasbro.

If BotCon and the TCC are gone due to this agreement, it's we as fans who have really lost out.

Randy

I don't agree. We'll still have fan run conventions, and without a proper official con to support I would expect more chances for Hasbro presence at those. It's hard for me to see Fun Pub as anything but an obstacle at this point.

There seems to be a lot of inter-related news of this kind the last few days :

http://news.tfw2005....as-strip-305584

http://news.tfw2005....perience-305563

http://news.tfw2005....ibitions-305546

http://news.tfw2005....tron-con-305167

--------

All I can ponder is things like the Star Wars Celebration that kind of are a Convention and a exhibition and other things - so if "Exhibitions" get big enough it seems that they will step on Funpubs toes in some ways even if it's just by virtue of how these events actually are.

I guess we will get some idea of what they might be like by looking at the previous smaller ones but all at what happens with the Marvel license they also hold.

If I was Funpub right now - I wouldn't be ordering that new Swimming pool right now.

To expand a little bit on my earlier post, BotCon isn't the fan convention it used to be. It can't be; the brand has grown too much for an official convention to feel remotely like the BotCon of old. So it exists in this grey area between a big mainstream event like these expos, and a fan centered event like you can now only get from unofficial shows. I think Fun Pub, despite the outward hostility to fan concerns and the continued bigotry that's guaranteed I will never bring my family to one of their shows, did an admirable job of navigating the changes that the brand has seen in the last 10 years. I'm just not convinced that they still have a satisfying niche.

Hasbro may have more of a presence at things like NYCC and SDCC, but I doubt you'd ever see them at anything smaller than that if BotCon were to go away.  You probably won't see them at things like DairyCon or TFCon.

If this eliminates both BotCon and the TCC, we aren't nearly as likely to see things like Krok, Nightracer, Nacelle, Banzaitron, Leozack, Needlenose, Spinister, Impactor, Dreadwind, Serptent O.R., Scorponok, Protoform X, Ultra Mammoth, etc etc etc ever at retail.

Granted some of those characters have had retail presence over the last few years, but none of them in are nearly as nice as the FP produced versions.

I think we'll have lost a pretty great thing if this is the case.

I also know that if BotCon no longer exists, and I'm sure others may run into similar situations, there are probably a lot of friends I may never cross paths with again.  As surely there is always the Internet and the like, but there's nothing like a convention like BotCon (which honestly I'm sure is probably the only convention a lot of them go to) to draw these friends in across the country.

Or even if say I do cross paths with friends from the west coast or middle of the country, it will never be as a group of friends but as individuals.  As as much as I dig the exclusives, the previews, and the guests at BotCon, as of late it's really for catching up with old friends in person that I now enjoy the most.  :)

LAS VEGAS -- Batman has his bat cave. Superman has his fortress of solitude. And soon the Avengers and a team of Transformers will call a corner on the Las Vegas Strip home.

Treasure Island casino-hotel has leased 28,000 square feet above a CVS drugstore to Victory Hill Exhibitions to create immersive displays dedicated to the pop-culture brands.

The 10-year lease includes $2 million in tenant improvements to the corner space on Las Vegas Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road.

Victory Hill ended its 18-month run at the Discovery Times Square space in New York where it offered its Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit. The Transformers exhibit is exclusive to Las Vegas and is still in development.

The exhibit is expected to open by March or April. Company officials haven't decided on an admission price.

Huh, if Hasbro are trying to claim that they can licence "exhibits" separately from from exclusive "convention" rights that's... almost hilariously duplicitous. But FP couldn't sue over what's a clear breach of contract, because then their license would be pulled over the many good reasons Hasbro would have a reason to do so.

I'd almost feel sorry for them being on the receiving end of such a dysfunctional business relationship, if it wasn't the exact same as their entire business model for the international fandom.

There's a full press release here

It's a "walk-through exhibit" with 3D video and projections and animatronics and stuff, which isn't at all cutting in on Fun Pub's collector-aimed weekend convention?

It sounds like Transformers: The Ride, just without it being a ride.

Does this mean any potential Hasbro-sponsored convention in 2017 will be held in Vegas? :)

I almost imagine this to be the TF equivalent of "The Star Trek Experience" sans makeup and costuming.

"Join forces with Optimus Prime and his newly-recruited team of All-S.TA.R.S. to.help him take down the evil Leader of the Decepticons in an immersive, pulse-pounding battle you won't soon forget!"
