Oh, there's an idea I just read that maybe makes more sense.

Good episode for Pike this week. Otherwise it's mostly set-up for the end of the season. I don't have a whole lot to say about it.

Well a potential major spoiler has been leaked about the second season finale:
If this proves to be true.....then truly this series will have discovered new ground for the franchise.

The calm before the storm. Man, I loved this episode. So many great character moments. I love character moments.

The finale was mostly very good. It tied up the season arc in a satisfying way. Plenty of nice emotional stuff and lots of eye candy. But I have issues.
Other, better things.
Next season could be bonkers.

So at the end they show interviews with a few key characters with a talking starfleet command head basically telling them "don't talk about this ship, or these people." But what about the [probable] thousands of other starfleet officers (amongst Klingons, etc.) that have had knowledge of Discovery, it's abilities, and it's people since the war? Sure, the public story is that it was destroyed, but it seems like they were trying to tie up their continuity outlier with a nice neat bow but didn't think it through logically.

Hopefully it isn't too long before the second season is released on blu-ray, on a format I can actually support. Now that all the episodes are out, I can use the free 7-day trial of the CBS All Access Amazon Prime add-on to binge it.

So, this is it?
There were quite a few holes really.
Oh my f****** god the writers of this show must get off on insulting the audience's intelligence.
Give me a couple days to type out my long rant against the depiction of Michael Burnham and how goddamn flimsy the goddamn plot is.

Kurtzman is one of the biggest hacks in Hollywood; he never should've graduated from writing for schlock like Hercules and Xena (which he was perfect for). Trek deserves a lot better than him... would've liked to see what Jordan Peele or someone else with talent and a social conscience might've done with it.
