@  Sabrblade : (18 July 2019 - 12:10 PM)

All this awesome SDCC news is really making these boards run slowly.

Racism must be stopped. No matter the cost.

We have a cornfield? Can I get a few ears?

@  Kalidor : (16 July 2019 - 12:56 PM)

And lastly, if it becomes too much hassle to deal with - it might just get sent into the cornfield and replaced with a Discord box anyway. So cool it.

@  Kalidor : (16 July 2019 - 12:55 PM)

Second thing is we do actually have the ability to ban users specifically from using Shoutbox if it's being abused like that

@  Kalidor : (16 July 2019 - 12:55 PM)

Hey all - just a reminder and heads up. The Shoutbox has been kept here as a courtesy because it's what you folks like in lieu of Discord - but a few things to remember is that P&R should stay in P&R and isn't really something that needs to be dragged out here in the most public of spaces.

@  Nevermore : (16 July 2019 - 11:04 AM)

Done.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (16 July 2019 - 10:25 AM)

You can make a new one. I doubt anybody would stop you.

@  Nevermore : (16 July 2019 - 10:16 AM)

There was a thread but it appears to have disappeared. Might have been lost in one of the older forum sweeps.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (16 July 2019 - 09:58 AM)

Yeah this is pretty much circumventing the fact that we have different rules for political talk.

@  fourteenwings : (16 July 2019 - 09:55 AM)

Okay, so, basically, can we not do politics in here anymore? I mean, considering how often @Nevermore, you talk about your work conditions, don't you think it's time for a dedicated thread in P&R?

@  unluckiness : (16 July 2019 - 09:39 AM)

Scratch that; that's insulting to honest salads. Whatever that was was the text equivalent of hamburger.

@  unluckiness : (16 July 2019 - 09:38 AM)

Would you like some dressing to go with your word salad?

@  Paladin : (16 July 2019 - 09:34 AM)

yes; it now goes "shit piss hug *BLEEP* ^$@^ motherhuger **** turd fart encyclopedia & Socialism."

@  unluckiness : (16 July 2019 - 09:24 AM)

This is an American site, but isn't that unnecessarily severe language? IIRC it's one of the top four offensive pejoratives to English people

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (16 July 2019 - 08:52 AM)

It's amusing how so many (U.S.) wankers in this world love to whine "capitalism good socialism bad!" in the abstract while simultaneously pretending that megacorporations dominating de facto monopolies is anathema to the core capitalistic principle of competition benefits everyone.

@  unluckiness : (16 July 2019 - 05:17 AM)

I know Shockwave's super mode is pretty lame and Magnus is kinda greebly but it's not that bad.

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 July 2019 - 12:38 AM)

Though with the luck and caliber of leaders we've had of late in the darkest timeline, maybe it's too much to hope for.

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 July 2019 - 12:36 AM)

Just like democracy, it's not perfect but better than the present alternatives. Capitalism as it's practiced today won't be able to weather the coming wave of automation, though. Best to plan for it and hope for a gentle transition rather than the aforementioned collapse

@  unluckiness : (16 July 2019 - 12:27 AM)

Capitalism is the worst amiright? Sent from my iPhone

@  Vexwing : (15 July 2019 - 11:24 PM)

Because the collapse is gonna be just great.

@  TM2-Megatron : (15 July 2019 - 10:41 PM)

Let's hope this is late stage and we're on the cusp of something better.

@  abates : (15 July 2019 - 09:45 PM)

Late stage capitalism is the absolute best.

@  TheMightyMol... : (15 July 2019 - 01:33 PM)

So, welcome to all retail, everywhere.

@  Nevermore : (15 July 2019 - 01:24 PM)

Oh, and Greenpeace also conducted a protest at a German Amazon facility, to protest against Amazon's practice of throwing customer returns in the trash.

@  Nevermore : (15 July 2019 - 01:17 PM)

Right, because with Amazon, it's just the employees that have to step in dog shit while having no space to breathe.[/slightexaggeration]

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (15 July 2019 - 01:03 PM)

At least I can use Amazon without losing the ability to breath or step in dog shit.

@  RichardT1977 : (15 July 2019 - 12:58 PM)

Considering that Amazon is the new Walmart...

@  Nevermore : (15 July 2019 - 12:39 PM)

All of my best wishes go out to the brave women and men who have the balls (and ovaries) to go on strike at an Amazon facility in the US.

The incredibly rare prototypes of the G2 Stunticons in wild '90s colors are back on EBay, along with a great number of pics of the pieces! Already the price is up over $8000, but these are assumed to be among fewer than a dozen produced, so if you want them, now's your chance!

ALERT: Everything is fine.

But in the current, digitized world, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible. Rumors about petty issues, misinterpretations, slander... All this junk data preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate. It will only slow down social progress, reduce the rate of evolution. You seem to think that our plan is one of censorship. What we propose to do is not to control content, but to create context.

If Several Hundred Breakdown's exist and we know that cases of Protectobots and Stunticons were sent out to at least one of more Toy store in Rhode Island, more of them were given away in a toys for tots auction - then why is it people keep saying these things are so rare - there are actually more of these that there is the alternative colour Optimus Minor & Green Ramulas. People keep saying things like there is only 10 sets - when there is more like 500 sets.

Oh and does that mean someone wants to give me $8,000 for my Universe Halloween Waspinator then? as there's a hell of a lot fewer of them too. I'm sure Protoman and others own things that there exists way less of them than the G2 Stunticons or Protectobots.

Unless I'm miss-remembering and the sets sent out for the afore mentioned purposes were just the G2 Protectobots.

Heck lasercycle Jazz is rarer than them and I've seen them for sale for a tiny fraction of that price for the Stunticons.

I'm reminded of the same issue I've had trying to prove to people that there is more than some arbitrary tiny number of Black God Magnus too all the info of there later distribution as chase figures out of Hong Kong wholesalers seems to have now vanished from the internet, not to mention they did the same thing with the clear ones too.

Maybe Dave still remembers ?

Maybe no one believes you and the information can't be found because you're wrong.

Just putting that out there as an alternative.

You following me around today or something ?

The wiki fails to even mention the single boxed Silver wheel hub upright packaging versions of Clear Super Convoy and a similarly packed God Magnus that are the same toys as the twin pack only you don't get the sword - how do I know this - Because I own one They were repacks unique to Hong Kong!.

It also fails to mention the cancelled offer for the other 200 Units of Black God Magnus or what eventually happened to them - which was what I was on about. All this info was once on Bigbot.com's front page as that site used to list all these sort of things religiously.

I bet someone like Ben & Dave would know or Protoman or even the guys on the Transformers at the Moon who used to Group buy Lucky Draws.

I suppose if I say Hasbro UK was tasked with designing a TM2 Rampage & a larger Obsidian toy I'll get accused of making that up too.

Which I'm not.

For real...I can't imagine being the kind of person who spends thousands of dollars on a high-profile, rare TF item and then "locks it away" for a year. Nor the kind of person who is "soured" by their collection. I guess I can understand getting to a point of oversaturation.

Eh, I get it. Honestly, most of G1 was the first to go when I decided I needed to really cut back on my collection. I felt like if I could get rid of so much of the "hot" stuff, the rare Japanese G1 items and blarblar, the stuff that honestly really didn't DO anything for me outside of "well I guess I own that" it'd make it a lot easier to trim the cruft from the other areas of the collection. (also those were worth more)

It totally has been, too. I've since felt almost no remorse, and the purging continues. I only take breaks because some stuff I'm not sure is worth the effort to ebay, and a lil too lazy to lot-sell.

I KINDA miss LioKaiser since they were my intro to JG1, three of them bought at a flea market for $2 apiece -no, seriously- and I had no clue who they were til I got online and asked... but hey, I still got the Rescue Force versions. BotCon stuff has been sold, with more to go.

Can't say I disparage this person any for the choice. I mean, I might've held onto them because they're goddamn weird, one of the things that keeps a toy in my collection.

I keep wondering why when there is a Knock off Stunticons Boxed set there isn't a G2 colour of it - it's one of those things that has you scratching your head and think - surely someone who has enough interest in Transformers to want to fake them would have enough interest to want to repaint them ?

Same applies to Baldigus too I guess it's been a really long time since a KO of that was made.

Oh the made up colour scheme that exists of the Stunticons as a KO giftset from a long time ago now (The one with the red & white Motormaster) was rather nice and is in high demand now too... I don't know how that sold when it was new - but now people act really happy to have found one whenever they show up... I think people like to see them as a Shattered Glass Menasor as Motormaster does look more than a bit like Optimus Prime.

See here (He's rather good fun) : http://randomtoyrevi...basebot-g1.html

Since they're not packaged on card, I wonder if whoever wins them would be willing to take pics of the combined Menasor form.

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.
