And a good boy

@  Liege : (18 November 2019 - 09:19 AM)

Hound is at least a very good toy.

@  ThunderWear : (18 November 2019 - 09:11 AM)

Hound is the only other one that even comes close to Chromia in my area, and he ships in two separate waves.

@  Liege : (18 November 2019 - 08:58 AM)

This might be how they finally get rid of all the Chromias. I've not seen a shelfwarmer like that in ages.

@  RichardT1977 : (17 November 2019 - 08:26 PM)

It's a good deal if you want a full set of Refraktor (and if they have them at your location)

@  TheMightyMol... : (17 November 2019 - 04:43 PM)

Here we can buy two and get one free, but at least two of them are gonna be the same toy, because lol distribution.

@  Bass X0 : (17 November 2019 - 01:01 PM)

In the U.K., it’s more like you but two, you only get one given how expensive they are.

@  Sjogre : (16 November 2019 - 10:46 PM)

Okay, that actually sounds pretty fun.

@  Maximus Ambus : (15 November 2019 - 12:49 PM)

It was set in the forties, featured Nazi's as the villains and had Kiko fight mostly Ice Age animals and a mythical dragon that now ruled the island guarding Kongs treasure.

@  Paladin : (15 November 2019 - 11:37 AM)

and it was ALSO eleven hours long.

@  Maximus Ambus : (15 November 2019 - 10:55 AM)

In a alternate reality Peter Jackson made Son of Kong.

@  wonko the sane? : (15 November 2019 - 09:30 AM)

To be fair to boba: everyone else to go into the sarlacc was a sacrifice. Stripped almost naked and tossed, and didn't have body armor, a jetpack and a weapon.

@  TheMightyMol... : (15 November 2019 - 06:54 AM)

Nah, he just has to keep up his plot insurance payments so he can shoot his way out of the Sarlacc again.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (15 November 2019 - 02:59 AM)

Funny, but everyone knows he bounty hunts for Jabba Hutt to finance his 'Vette.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (15 November 2019 - 02:54 AM)

Okay.. Not sure why.. but streaming is harder than jsut playing the game.. even though that's pretty much what I was doing.

@  Xellos : (14 November 2019 - 06:47 PM)

What type of vehicle does Boba Fett use for time travel? A Man-DeLorean.

@  TM2-Megatron : (14 November 2019 - 03:55 PM)

Admittedly, it's been a long time since I've been to a walk-in clinic, as I tend not to get sick (and the one time I do every 4-5 years, I prefer just riding it out at home), but the last time I went I'm pretty sure you could just show up, no appointment. It may be different in Quebec, though

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 02:36 PM)

One thing to note about health insurance in Germany is that we have a two-class system: mandatory health insurance is basically the economy class, while private health insurance is the business class.

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 02:32 PM)

My local doctor is actually a shared office with several doctors where you will get randomly assigned to one of the doctors available that day.

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 02:30 PM)

Also, employers are required by law to cover part of their employees' health insurance fees, so I only have to pay my part.

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 02:28 PM)

Basic examinations and sick notes (known as "work-inability certificates" in Germany) for the employer are covered by our health insurances by default.

@  TheMightyMol... : (14 November 2019 - 12:02 PM)

Around here, we can go to a walk-in clinic whenever, but might have to wait in the queue until there's a doctor available, which can take hours on a busy day. And then hope our insurance will cover anything.

@  wonko the sane? : (14 November 2019 - 07:38 AM)

There actually are a good number of clinics around here: but the walk ins require an appointment (what?) and are only done once a week. IF you can get an appointment, you see a doctor usually within 40 minutes, but good luck getting the appointment.

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 03:35 AM)

Depending on the day.

@  Nevermore : (14 November 2019 - 03:35 AM)

We have family doctors (called "house doctors") with regular office hours where you may need an hour or two of waiting time.

@  TM2-Megatron : (14 November 2019 - 12:50 AM)

Two weeks? That seems a little long; are there not a lot of walk-in clinics around you?

@  wonko the sane? : (13 November 2019 - 07:01 PM)

Does germany make it quick and easy to see a doctor too? Cause an emergency doctor visit can take two weeks out here, and an emergency ROOM visit can take 18-24 hours.

@  Nevermore : (13 November 2019 - 06:43 PM)

(Good thing is, under German law, if you call in sick during your vacation and see a doctor immediately, you get to keep your vacation days.)

@  Nevermore : (13 November 2019 - 06:42 PM)

Too bad. My plans wee to do two more overtime hours before having my last day of vacation for the year on Friday. Oh well.

@  Nevermore : (13 November 2019 - 06:41 PM)

So I'm currently on medical leave for a particularly stupid reason: Burned my back with a hot-water bag while sleeping last night. Though the doctor said I'm hardly the first person to have this happen to them.

@  Patch : (13 November 2019 - 06:11 PM)

Just a particularly odious example of the 90s era of depicting transgender women as either the subject of crude humor, or "Jerry Springer" material.

@  Ashley : (13 November 2019 - 04:55 PM)

I think Ace Ventura legit contributed to me spending years in self denial. I will never be ok with Jim Carrey.

@  Benbot : (13 November 2019 - 01:22 PM)

I thought he since changed his tune.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (13 November 2019 - 12:51 PM)

Jim Carry Paladin?

@  Maximus Ambus : (13 November 2019 - 12:22 PM)

Don't doubt what he can do. Sonic the Hedgehog!

@  Paladin : (13 November 2019 - 11:51 AM)

not giving a dime to a transphobic antivaxxer.

@  wonko the sane? : (13 November 2019 - 11:25 AM)

It'll be a terrible movie if jim carrey phones it in. Otherwise it should be decent.

@  Paladin : (13 November 2019 - 10:45 AM)

sonics' still gonna be a terrible movie but at least they whined loud enough to make him look passable for a 2-minute trailer. "yay."

@  ▲ndrusi : (13 November 2019 - 10:37 AM)

But of course to annoying people there's no such thing as different decisions made for different reasons, there is only "I like it so it's right" and "I don't like it so it's wrong."

@  ▲ndrusi : (13 November 2019 - 10:35 AM)

Even if we pretend it's objective truth that they were both bad, then they were bad in very different ways.

@  ▲ndrusi : (13 November 2019 - 10:33 AM)

Sonic's previous movie design looked genuinely bad. The Transformers '07 designs just looked insufficiently like what certain loud and obnoxious parts of the fandom think Transformers are required to always look like.

@  Otaku : (13 November 2019 - 08:50 AM)

Um... Purple Monkey Dishwasher?

@  TheMightyMol... : (13 November 2019 - 08:25 AM)

Do we really need to have Every Movie Transformer Thread Ever in the Squawkbox?

@  Bass X0 : (13 November 2019 - 08:13 AM)

Sure it made money but that doesn’t mean it has appealing character designs. Lot of god awful fugly faces in the Transformers movies.

@  Otaku : (12 November 2019 - 08:25 PM)

@Liege My issue with Transformers (2007) were elements I thought were unnecessary.  I know it was supposed to just be a joke, but I didn't ever need to hear about "Sam's Happy Time". >.> Which, being in awe of the first "live action" TF-film, didn't even register until I'd already purchased and watched it on DVD a few times (after seeing it in theaters 3 times).

@  Liege : (12 November 2019 - 08:22 PM)

For all the Bayisms in the 07 movie, it was tempered by Spielberg as producer. Designs aside it was an enjoyable popcorn blockbuster about a boy and his first car who happens to be an alien from another planet. They sequels are just Bay going unchecked after he proved how much bank he could bring in.

@  TM2-Megatron : (12 November 2019 - 07:12 PM)

I didn't find the designs in the '07 movie to be that bad, personally. What got really offputting was how Cybertronians in general become such huge a-holes in the later films; the designs were very much secondary to their horrible personalities

I hereby presume Combiner Wars Deluxe wave 3 (Streetwise, Blades, First Aid and Rook) to be available at most Real and Galeria Kaufhof stores, as stores are drowning in them at this point. The chances for wave 4 aren't that great.

I also presume RID Three-Step Changer Steeljaw to be available at most Real stores.

Furthermore, I presume the RID Titan Heroes (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Steeljaw and Sideswipe) to be available at most Real stores, as I've seen them at too many stores today and I assume the interest in them isn't that huge to begin with. (I did, however, see a kid walk off with one of them in his hands!) Real in Duisburg-Großenbaum, Ratingen-Breitscheid, Düsseldorf-Bilk, Neuss (Rheinpark-Center), Neuss (Bataverstr.) and Düsseldorf-Heerdt.
Real_Duisburg_Grossenbaum2015_10_17.jpg Real_Ratingen_Breitscheid2015_10_17_1.jp Real_Duesseldorf_Bilk2015_10_17_1.jpg Real_Neuss_Rheinpark_Center2015_10_17.jp Real_Neuss_Bataverstr2015_10_17.jpg Real_Duesseldorf_Heerdt2015_10_17_1.jpg

The Toys"R"Us stores in Düsseldorf-Derendorf and Neuss both have RID Stomp & Chomp Grimlock (whom I hereby presume to be available at most TRU stores), the store in Düsseldorf also had Super Bumblebee (whom I also presume to be available at most TRU and Galeria Kaufhof stores) plus Legion Ultra Magnus and Patrol Mode Strongarm.
TRUDuesseldorf2015_10_17_1.jpg TRUDuesseldorf2015_10_17_2.jpg TRUDuesseldorf2015_10_17_3.jpg

Real in Ratingen (Am Sandbach) has RID Legion Ulta Magnus and Patrol Mode Strongarm.
Real_Ratingen_Am_Sandbach2015_10_17.jpg

Real in Düsseldorf-Bilk also has Combiner Wars Legends Rodimus and Skywarp.
Real_Duesseldorf_Bilk2015_10_17_4.jpg

Galeria Kaufhof in downtown Düsseldorf (Am Wehrhahn) has a full set of Combiner Wars Legends wave 4 (Rodimus, Skywarp, Groove and Warpath, two of each) plus Voyager Cyclonus and Hot Spot. The Kaufhof store in downtown Düsseldorf ("Kaufhof an der Kö") has CW Legends Rodimus and Groove (two of each) plus RID Legion Ultra Magnus and Patrol Mode Strongarm. I hereby presume the CW wave 4 Legends to be available at most Real and Kaufhof stores, the Voyagers as available at most Kaufhof and Toys"R"Us stores, and the RID wave 5 Legions as available at most Rossmann, Real and Kaufhof stores.
Galeria_Kaufhof_Duesseldorf_Wehrhahn2015 Galeria_Kaufhof_Duesseldorf_Koe2015_10_1

Real in Düsseldorf-Bilk also has the RID One-Step Changers Gold Armor Grimlock and Patrol Mode Strongarm. These two haven't seen widespread distribution thus far.
Real_Duesseldorf_Bilk2015_10_17_2.jpg Real_Duesseldorf_Bilk2015_10_17_3.jpg

The RID One-Step Changers Night Ops Bumblebee and Ninja Mode Sideswipe are also available at the Real store in Ratingen-Breitscheid. I hereby presume these two to be available at most Real stores.

First sightings of the day:

RID Warrior Night Ops Bumblebee and Gold Armor Grimlock plus Three-Step Changer Sideswipe. All three at the Real stores in Ratingen-Breitscheid and in Düsseldorf-Heerdt.

Also included in the Warrior wave are Jazz, Sideswipe, Optimus Prime and Drift, whom I hereby presume to be available at most Galeria Kaufhof, Real and Rossmann stores. The same applies to Legion Night Ops Bumblebee and Alpine Strike Sideswipe.

Toys"R"Us in Duisburg-Meiderich has the RID "Clash of the Transformers" Legion two-packs (Optimus Prime/Megatronus and Bumblebee/Underbite), the "Clash" Three-Step Changers Optimus Prime and Bumblebee and the "Clash"-Warriors Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe. Also a huge chaos on the middle shelf. Meanwhile, the Stomp & Chomp Grimlocks are gone, both the AOE and the RID version.

Nothing really new at the Real store in Bochum-Wattenscheid.

Real in Bochum-Riemke has two RID Warrior Gold Armor Grimlocks plus Three-Step Changer Sideswipe.
Real_Bochum_Riemke2015_10_31_1.jpg Real_Bochum_Riemke2015_10_31_2.jpg Real_Bochum_Riemke2015_10_31_3.jpg

Spiele Max in downtown Bochum has RID Warrior Night Ops Bumblebee, Gold Armor Grimlock, Optimus Prime and Sideswipe.
Spiele_Max_Bochum2015_10_31.jpg

Karstadt inside the Ruhr Park shopping mall in Bochum has RID One-Step Changer Patrol Mode Strongarm, Age of Extinction One-Step Changers Slug and Steeljaw (two of each; I assume we're gonna get Galvatron next year, or what?) plus a full case of Combiner Wars Legends wave 3 (2x Viper, 3x Groove, 3x Warpath) - the first time I've seen Combiner Wars figures at Karstadt!
Karstadt_Ruhr_Park_Bochum2015_10_31_1.jp Karstadt_Ruhr_Park_Bochum2015_10_31_2.jp

A friendly advice for everyone who intends to take a trip to the Ruhr Park shopping mall in the near future: Don't try looking for a parking spot for your car on a Saturday! Those are hours of your life you'll never get back. Hopefully this problem will be a thing of the past once the renovations are completed.

Also nothing really new at the Real store in Bochum-Langendreer. That store is a lost cause in terms of Transformers anyways.

Toys"R"Us in Dortmund-Oespel has a few of the RID "Clash of the Transformers" Legion two-packs (Optimus Prime/Megatronus and Bumblebee/Underbite), a lot of the "Clash" Warriors (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe), the "Clash" Three-Step Changers (Optimus Prime and Bumblebee) plus Super Bumblebee and Stomp & Chomp Grimlock. Not shown in the photos is the totally chaotic "Combiner Wars" section around the corner, with a sad highlight in the form of a whole six (!) Drag Strips. That's what happens when you don't release the rest of the Stunticons in Germany, Hasbro!

Real_Dortmund_Aplerbeck2015_10_31_1.jpg Real_Dortmund_Aplerbeck2015_10_31_2.jpg

Also a lost cause in terms of Transformers is the Real store in Dortmund-Eving.

Real in Castrop-Rauxel has RID One-Step Changers Gold Armor Grimlock and Patrol Mode Strongarm.
Real_Castrop_Rauxel2015_10_31.jpg

Real in Herne has RID Warrior Night Ops Bumblebee, Gold Armor Grimlock, Jazz und Sideswipe. No idea which Three-Step Changer is seen in the photo, I totally overlooked that one.
Real_Herne2015_10_31_1.jpg Real_Herne2015_10_31_2.jpg

Since at this point, nearly every (!) Real store has the RID role-play weapons (the Bumblebee blaster and the "Decepticon Hunter" sword) in large quantities, I did not take photos of those.

AOE One-Step Changer Steeljaw now also at Galeria Kaufhof in Neuss. I'm fairly convinced that Galvatron and Strafe will pop up next year. :D
Galeria_Kaufhof_Neuss2015_11_06.jpg

A rather unusual combination I also saw at the Galeria Kaufhof store in Neuss (no photos): RID Legion Alpine Strike Sideswipe from wave 4 and Patrol Mode Strongarm from wave 5. Since Sideswipe isn't shipping with wave 5 anymore, this means the two are taken from different shipments. The first time I saw this particular combination at the same store.

The usual "Clash of the Transformers" line-up now also at the Toys"R"Us stores in Neuss and Düsseldorf-Derendorf. The store in Neuss only has one Warrior Optimus Prime and one Sideswipe left, with no Bumblebee to be seen. The store in Düsseldorf still has at least one of each.

RID Three-Step Changer Night Ops Bumblebee, together with Sideswipe and Steeljaw from the previous waves, at the Toys"R"Us store in Düsseldorf-Derendorf:

How many of the RID Warriors and the Combiner Wars Deluxes are still remaining at the Frütel store depends entirely on a fellow collector from my hometown (not sure if he has an account here at the Allspark), who arrived on the parking lot just as I was leaving the store. :D

Galeria Kaufhof in downtown Solingen (Clemens-Galerien) has RID One-Step Changer Patrol Mode Strongarm and Three-Step Changer Night Ops Bumblebee.
Galeria_Kaufhof_Solingen2015_11_21.jpg

Spiele Max inside the Hofgarten shopping mall in downtown Solingen has RID One-Step Changers Gold Armor Grimlock and Patrol Mode Strongarm, Warrior Gold Armor Grimlock, Three-Step Changers Steeljaw and Sideswipe plus two Combiner Wars Legends Blackjacks. Aside from Blackjack, they also had multiples of Rodimus, Skywarp and Warpath, plus at least one Windcharger, Powerglide and Bombshell - the same line-up I saw last week at the Spiele Max store in downtown Mülheim an der Ruhr. That doesn't match up with any known US wave - wave 2 would have included Huffer, whereas wave 4 revision 1 (which also includes Blackjack again) would have included Groove.

Real in Düsseldorf-Bilk has two Combiner Wars Deluxe Prowls and two Mirages. No Sunstreaker and no Ironhide.
Real_Duesseldorf_Bilk2015_11_21.jpg

From the "WTF?" files: Karstadt in downtown Düsseldorf has Age of Extinction One-Step Changer High Octane Bumblebee. This is the fourth figure from wave 4 of the AOE One-Step Changers I've found this year following a long delay, the other three being helicopter Drift, Slug and Steeljaw. It can only be a matter of months now (!) until Galvatron shows up at retail as well. :D :D
Karstadt_Duesseldorf2015_11_21.jpg

Nothing noteworty at the two remaining Galeria Kaufhof department stores in downtown Düsseldorf or the two Real stores in Ratingen. Müller inside the Martkarree shopping mall in Langenfeld also doesn't have anything new, but they do have a lot of RID Underbites, both Legions and One-Step Changers. Real in Langenfeld also doesn't really have anything new (aside from the usual stuff such as wave 4 of the RID Warriors); however, the store still deserves honorary mention due to the large selection and the well-sorted and tidy toy department. Considering the "war zones" I've seen at other Real stores, I think is safe to say that someone in charge of the toy section at the Langenfeld store takes their job very serious.
