@  Nevermore : (04 August 2020 - 05:49 PM)

And then there are the "but my favorite characater will totes win because I say so" people.

@  Nevermore : (04 August 2020 - 05:49 PM)

I mean, there are some people who really approach this from a somewhat reasonable standpoint, coming up with a plausible scenario and a setting that creates a fair environment that doesn't favor one character.

@  Nevermore : (04 August 2020 - 05:46 PM)

My favorite stupid "why would they even fight each other" question recently was about three versions of Optimus Prime (G1, Bayverse and Aligned).

@  Nevermore : (04 August 2020 - 05:45 PM)

Batman obviously can beat everyone. Even Galactus. He's Batman. He's so smart, he'll just throw a Batarang and hit the weak spot at Galactus's forehead, knocking him out instantaneously.

@  wonko the sane? : (04 August 2020 - 11:37 AM)

It's almost like all drama is just manufactured pissing contests to keep us all entertained and distracted. :p

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (04 August 2020 - 10:16 AM)

Or they could go White Ranger vs Scorpion route and have both win. ;P

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:35 AM)

Besides, we all know the answer is nearly always "they fight to a standstill and then team up against a common enemy."

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:29 AM)

The best way to prove this is to give an example where the match is really lopsided in favor of one character but in popularity they're either evenly matched or the weaker one is more popular.

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:27 AM)

The "who would win in a fight" discussions are really just people trying to make "which one's better" into something you can theoretically measure objectively, usually in a very specific way they think they've predetermined their favorite will win.

@  Otaku : (04 August 2020 - 02:01 AM)

@Nevermore So... you're saying you didn't like DC Versus Marvel/Marvel Versus DC?

@  Steevy Maximus : (03 August 2020 - 06:59 PM)

So, what happened to Hasbro's Zoids relaunch? An English dub, some stuff in southeast Asia, and now a game coming in October? That it?

@  wonko the sane? : (03 August 2020 - 10:46 AM)

Tidal wave, cause shooting water gets you nowhere.

@  Darth Gonzo : (03 August 2020 - 09:57 AM)

Who would win Tidal Wave or Broadside?

@  -LittleAutob... : (03 August 2020 - 08:17 AM)

Btw Happy birthday to those people in the box to the right \o/

@  -LittleAutob... : (03 August 2020 - 08:16 AM)

The bottom line is obvious. It makes no literal sense to fight someone on your faction. :/

@  wonko the sane? : (03 August 2020 - 06:14 AM)

That's because you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to just stack skills and ability against each other. It's not the palace of doom, it's an episode of american gladiators.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:32 AM)

The only obvious winners of such a fight would be the bad guys.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:29 AM)

And what does it even matter? They should work together, not stupidly fight each other for the mindless entertainment of idiot onlookers.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:29 AM)

Why would two good guys fight each other? What are they fighting over?

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:28 AM)

I never understood these "who would win in a fight between two good guys" discussions. They make no sense to me.

@  Maximus Ambus : (02 August 2020 - 04:17 PM)

If G1 had continued we'd have had Starscream back in spirit - through Krunk, Snapdragons partner and possibly Skullcruncher unless he was mute.

@  Bass X0 : (02 August 2020 - 12:28 PM)

There are some decent impersonators in fandubs though.

@  -LittleAutob... : (02 August 2020 - 10:45 AM)

The only true Starscream voices are Steve Blum and Chris Latta, hands down.

@  Sabrblade : (02 August 2020 - 10:14 AM)

Why they didn't have Scott McNeil voicing that Starscream, when he was the one who had imitated Chris Latta when he voiced Cobra Commander in the DiC G.I. Joe cartoon, is beyond me.

@  wonko the sane? : (02 August 2020 - 09:57 AM)

Say what you will, that was an awesome scene.

@  -LittleAutob... : (01 August 2020 - 08:36 PM)

Hearing Starscream's screechy voice in Cyberverse has to be the most annoying thing ever in Transformers. Even his G1 voice wasn't as bad. :doh

Also Evac toys are supposed no longer being sold at Universal in any form whatsoever.

At least in Orlando, Evac is no longer sold. The space where he might normally be is where other figures or items sit now.
The Kre-O set has been amended to include a generic “N.E.S.T. Sentry” robot Kreon in place of Evac.

So there are at least three versions of the Universal Kreon 4-pack out there:

Set number A9370 - old mold Kreon bodies, including Evac
Set number B6094 - new mold Kreon bodies, including Evac
Set number E5029 - new mold Kreon bodies, including N.E.S.T. Sentry in place of Evac

So.. Hasbro Selects figures from WFC-GS01 up until WFC-GS09 Hot Shot came in packaging that only says "War for Cybertron Trilogy", but had Siege-style red instructions that specifically featured the "Siege" logo.

WFC-GS10 Soundwave Spy Patrol 3rd Unit also comes in packaging that only says "War for Cybertron Trilogy", with "Earthrise-style instructions aquamarin instructions.. that also only say "War for Cybertron Trilogy", not "Earthrise".

Hasbro is really trolling us.

Spoiler

Hasbro Pulse's listing for Soundwave Spy Patrol 3rd Unit labels Knok as an Autobot while the instructions say Decepticon. Which should be considered the error? I point out that John Hasbro made Earthrise Doubledealer so 1980s that the figure can display either Autobot or Decepticon insignia.

So, are we going to acknowledge Selects Exhaust and Greasepit or not? Hasbro haven't acknowledged their existence yet, but both figures are legally available for purchase from several online retailers.

Question.

I get that we're moving the Micromaster Stations to the names of their Micromaster operators based on how their new toys are coming out with those names, but why aren't we moving them to "Ironworks (station)", "Greasepit (station)" etc.? Where does the "(facility)" disambig come from?

They were sold as the "Micromaster Stations" assortment back in 1989, so why are we no using that?

"(facility)" comes from the normal-ass English word "facility" that is a description of what they are that the Micromaster operators aren't.

"Station," hilariously, is not that, because if you interpret it as a common noun then Ironworks (facility) and Airwave (facility) are things that would not normally be called station, but if you interpret it as referring to the Micromaster Station assortment then Ironworks (Micromaster) and Airwave (Micromaster), the guys we're trying to disambiguate them from, are from that assortment.

So. We still need to merge the "Beast Wars II" and "Beast Wars Neo" toyline pages into the main Beast Wars toyline page (or alternatively create an entirely separate page for the three portions of the Japanese Beast Wars pre-"Metals". As we've previously established, none of the toys are branded "Beast Wars II" or "Neo" on their packaging, it's all one continuous toyline prior to the "Metals" branding. Since I've already merged the various Japanese G1 toyline pages pre-"Return of Convoy" into the main FSRL page, I think it's time we do the same for the Takara Beast lines.

Now before I do this, I'd like to discuss the following first:

- Keep it all as a sub-section on the main Hasbro Beast Wars toyline page, or create a separate Takara Beast Wars toyline page?

- How do I keep the revision history for all three pages so the contributors are properly acknowledged?

- Where does the "Super Lifeform" portion in the title come from? I only see "Transformers Beast Wars" in katakana on the toys' packaging. Is that another instance of "cartoon title applied to the toys because... because"?

EDIT: Yes it is... Compare:

Japanese cartoon title: "Beast Wars Super Lifeform Transformers"

BW Japanese cartoon title.jpg

Japanese toyline title: "Transformers Beast Wars"

Soooo. Expanded the page on Nasta and the relevant explanation in Enemy's "Notes" section.

Here are all the Nasta toys I'm aware of.

Nasta_Electronic_Helmet_1.jpg  Nasta_Electronic_Helmet_2.jpg  Nasta_Electronic_Helmet_3.jpg  Nasta_Electronic_Helmet_4.jpg

The "Electronic Helmet" states its faction as "Heroic Autobot". No character name given, even though the helmet is based on Optimus Prime.

Nasta_Tech_Specometer_Eleven_1.jpg  Nasta_Tech_Specometer_Eleven_2.jpg

The "Tech Specometer Eleven" also states its faction as "Heroic Autobot". No character name given.

Nasta_Mini_Headset_Radio_1.jpg Nasta_Mini_Headset_Radio_2.jpg  Nasta_Mini_Headset_Radio_3.jpg

The "Mini Headset Radio" states its faction as simply "Autobot", and the character's name (?) as "Freedom Fighter".

Also updated Freedom Fighter's page.

Nasta_AM_Personal_Wrist_Radio_1.jpg  Nasta_AM_Personal_Wrist_Radio_2.jpg

The "AM Personal Wrist Radio" states its faction as "Heroic Autobot". No character name given.

Nasta_AM_Radio_1.jpg  Nasta_AM_Radio_2.jpg

The "AM Radio" states its faction as simply "Autobot", and the character's name (?) as "Freedom Fighter".

Nasta_Pulsating_Light_AM_Radio_1.jpg  Nasta_Pulsating_Light_AM_Radio_2.jpg  Nasta_Electronic_Voice_Synthesizer_1.jpg  Nasta_Electronic_Voice_Synthesizer_2.jpg

The "Pulsating Light AM Radio" and the "Electronic Voice Synthesizer" both only state their faction as "Heroic Autobot". No character name given, even though both are both clearly designed as representations of Ultra Magnus.

The "AM Radio Headset" and the "Electronic Voice Changer" both state the faction as "Decepticon", and the character's name (?) as "Enemy". This was later canonized by TakaraTomy with the "Enemy" redeco of the G1 Frenzy/Rumble toy included with Encore Soundblaster, and again later with the Masterpiece "Cassettbot VS Cassettron" four-pack that included an "Enemy" redeco of the Masterpiece Rumble/Frenzy sculpt.

Nasta_AM_Wireless_Microphone_1.jpg  Nasta_AM_Wireless_Microphone_2.jpg Nasta_AM_Wireless_Microphone_3.jpg Nasta_AM_Wireless_Microphone_4.jpg  Nasta_AM_Wireless_Microphone_5.jpg

The "AM Wireless Microphone" states its faction/function as "Decepticon—Enemy". The character's name (?) is "Microphone", even though the toy is clearly designed as a representation of Megatron.
