What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

If they want to hold the moral high ground, then the Pro-Birth crowd can join the rest of us Pro-Lifers in worrying about what kind of lives the kids will have once they are born.

I wonder how much the true motivation for opposing abortion is actually the "today's babies are tomorrow's workers" perspective. Especially for the rich, whose lifestyles depend entirely on a steady stream of poor laborers to clean their toilets and work in their factories.

With that in mind, forcing poor people to have kids and then doing nothing to make parenting easier isn't a bug. It's a feature. It's how we get millions of desperate wage slaves shackled to their low-paying jobs.

They get Abortion out of the way and finish destroying Public Education, they can start working on getting rid of those pesky Child Labor laws.

They either have a plan to ensure control of the population outright, or they all want to die in revolutionary fire. Frankly, I hope the latter.
it's probably gonna be the latter. there's inevitably gonna be a point where enough people will say they've had enough, and I think we're approaching it.

there's also the surprisingly large chance that if the republicans get drunk enough on their own power to go full Nazi and start unlawfully ordering the police to round up and imprison/execute American citizens, the military brass and intelligence agencies would stage a coup on whoever's in power and end up with the US military and intelligence agencies fighting the police and the Proud Boys. either way there's gonna be some sort of civil war/revolution/military coup in the next decade or so

In absolute fairness to the woman (Which I don't want to give), she's just quoting the study she's citing directly on that terminology.
Granted what she's quoting is laughably bad to begin with, since the problem with Adoption isn't a decreased "supply". The problem is it costs too bloody much and agencies are allowed to discriminate instead of getting kids into safe, loving homes.

Again - Pro-Birth not Pro-Life. Because once these kids are born, the Pro-Birth crowd couldn't give a shit.

Not ALL contraceptives.
They, after all, will continue on as they have.

A sin for thee, not for me.

If the poor are too desperate to do anything but toil away under the thumb of capitalism, the rich win.
It's why, barring some seismic political upheaval, we'll never have universal health care or universal basic income in the US: the crony capitalists here won't allow it because they need to keep the rest of us busy fighting over their paltry table scraps.

Especially, in the case of health care, when so many of them are rich because of our horrible health care system.

I always wanted the US to have an integrated health system like ours*, but honestly I don’t think that will ever happen either. Without the US splitting into two or more successor nations, which looks increasingly likely. Or at least that seems more likely than the US getting even a very weak, basic healthcare system.

* I still remember watching the episode of The Simpsons where Homer has a heart attack and can’t afford a bypass operation, back in my early teens (whenever the BBC2 belatedly got the rights to the show). That really shaped my political views at that age; until then I didn’t even know of the concept of financial hardship due to medical expenses, having grown up with the British NHS.

Everything that is good for the majority of people is pure socialism, which is bad for people because reasons.

I'm really sick of conservative white American guys complaining about the MCU "pandering" to women and minorities. They literally gave you a white dude named Captain America, ffs. You really need to STFU about "pandering".

PS. Remember in "Avengers", when Cap said "There's only one God" and all the conservatives cheered as if Team Jesus just hit a Grand Slam home run? You weren't upset about "pandering" then, were you?

Well, to be fair. Here is a female storyteller's analysis of how Carol Danvers was written with her sole defining personality trait "strong FEMALE" compared to Natasha Romanoff who was written as "complex conflicted charater (female)".

In 1989, we went to the US on holidays, I was 7 at the time. I head my parents talk about having a million dollars health insurance each, and couldn't quite wrap my head around what we'd need so much money for.
