Card subject to COVID change. Roman Reigns has COVID so Brock is inserted into the other title match to make it a Fatal 5 Way. Crazyness.

Yeah weird that happened.

ANYWAYS!

Wrestle Kingdom Night One happened and oh boy! Lots of stuff happened. Here's the resutls.

  • YOH def. SHO
  • Bullet Club (El Phantasmo, KENTA, & Taiji Ishimori) def. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Rocky Romero, & Ryusuke Taguchi
  • UNITED EMPIRE (Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb, & Will Ospreay) def. Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, SANADA, & Tetsuya Naito)
  • Katsuyori Shibata def. Ren Narita
  • EVIL def. Tomohiro Ishii to win the NEVER Openweight Championship
  • CHAOS (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) def. Suzuki-gun (Taichi & Zack Sabre, Jr.) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship)
  • El Desperado def. Hiromu Takahashi to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada def. Shingo Takagi to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
So we've got some great things happening overseas and House of Torture continues to live up to it's name as it's torturing the fans and ruining EVIL and SHO. Meanwhile, the Full United Empire makes an impressive debut against LIJ, Shibata returns, CHAOS let's Taichi and Sabre take a rest from carrying the tag team division, El Desperado has arrived with a classic with Hiromu and Okada vs. Osprey sets the stage for Night 2. Lotta good stuff there. Cept for HoT. That does the same thing every single hugging match.

Ironbite-good stuff, good stuff.

Night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom delievered in spades.

  • Flying Tiger (Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask) (c) defeat The Mega Coaches (Ryusuke Taguchi & Rocky Romero) and Bullet Club’s Cutest Tag Team (Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo) to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship
  • Saya Kamitani & Tam Nakano defeat Mayu Iwatani & Starlight Kid
  • Minoru Suzuki defeats Toru Yano, Chase Owens & Cima to win the King of Pro Wrestling 2022 Trophy
  • House of Torture (EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & Sho) (c) defeat CHAOS (Hirooki Goto, Yoshi-Hashi & Yoh) to retain the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship
  • SANADA defeats Great-O-Khan
  • Tetsuya Naito defeats Jeff Cobb
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats KENTA (c) to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada (c) defeats Will Ospreay to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship

Ok so to sum up, the Flying Tiger retained because well, they're the new face of the Jr. Tag Team division, STARDOM continues to put on awesome matches, Suzuki continues being murder grandpa, House of Torture continues to be just that, SANADA makes his case to become a massive singles star outside of LIJ, Naito puts Jeff Cobb back in the New Japan picture, Tanahashi once again proves what an Ace should be and Okada shows some respect even after him and Ospray put on a clinic of perfection and even though I wanted Ospreay to win, I understand why they went with Okada. Also Naito came out to challenge Okada because he's Naito.

So you got the good? Great. Bad news. WWE once again proves how dumb they are with some NXT releases. Mostly cleaning up whatever else they've missed and pissing on Triple H's legacy because he couldn't manage to beat AEW because....Vince is dumb. Releases are as follows.

William Regal
Road Dogg
HIdeki Suzuki,
Scott Armstrong
Dave Kapoor
Ace Steel
Ryan Katz
Timothy Thatcher
Danny Burch
Cathy Corino AKA Allison Danger

What do all these people have in common? Well save for a few, they're all Triple H's guys and girls. Yep it's Vince showing just how much he cares about the future. As little as possible.

Ironbite-what a joke.

Add Joe to the list of wrestlers released folks. And this time, Triple H won't be able to save his job.

Ironbite-AEW is going to snatch Joe up and run him to the moon.

Right The Brian Kendrick is once again gone from the WWE. So what's he gonna do next? Why debut against Jon Moxley on Dynamite tomarrow.

Ironbite-.....weird.

There are reports going around that Shane O-Mac has been dismissed after the disaster of the men's Rumble this weekend. He apparently just made a huge mess of the thing and got on everyones' bad side with the booking. So Daddy grounded him and sent him to his room without a Wrestlemania match.

So the big news is that AEW and Cody Rhodes/Brandi Rhodes are done, reportedly over money. Popular opinion is he's WWE bound for stacks and stacks of Sweet Saudi Blood Money.

Honestly, I can't really say I'm going to miss him that much. Sure, he's had some good matches but his gimmick recently has just blurred the line between reality and wrestling too much for my tastes.

So, after an 11 year absence, Claudio Castagnoli makes his return to the ring!

In other words, Cesaro and The 'E couldn't come to terms on a new contract. Reportedly, they offered him the same deal he was working under but he wanted more and a some elevation in the card. "Someone" in management thought he wasn't worth it, has no charisma (wha?) and can't connect with the crowd (even bigger "wha?!"). Since his contract ran out, there is no 90-day so he can pop up anywhere he wants at anytime.

i LOVE that at any minute Claudio can show up in GCW and have bangers with guys like Alex Zayne and Blake Christian

Yeah losing Castagnoli is an amazing misstep on Nick Khan's part. Seriously, you could build like 3 companies out of all the people the WWE have let go.

Ironbite-and Matt Cardona is proving to be the USA's version of Ultimo Dragon after capturing his 6th World Title belt.

Sad reason to bump the thread but Big E broke his neck last night on Smackdown. Took a bad suplex from Ridge Holland and landed on his head. Luckily he has movement and feeling of his legs and arms but a broken neck. Won't even begin to speculate how long he'll be on the shelf. Really sad.
