About a week late, but I just now got around to making it:

i think its supposed to be an homage to the original star wars poster. its not EXACT, but pretty close
I think Telly was on the right track - it was a Star Wars reference - but I like your answer, too.
Ever since I saw that promo render, I always thought it was more of a blanket reference to those low fantasy pin-ups - like Frank Frazetta's work - where sometimes the artist had a female character draped over a heroically-standing male character, even if their personalities meant said pose was highly unlikely to happen.
Then the Quantum Leap effect activates leaving behind a confused Optimus Prime and a dead Megatron.
Then one of the girls from Kiss Players suddenly is enveloped in a huge burst of blue lightning, leaving Hotrod in a cute outfit saying "Oh, boy..."
