Begin this new year with remembrance of the past, the struggles, the triumphs, the people we lost and the people we met. It hasn't been an easy one, nor the year before it... or before that. We've all suffered through these days with varying degrees of success and seeming futility.

Yet here we are, at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. Let this be our lesson for the coming years: We can survive. We can see the new day dawn and persevere. So to the new year with trepidation, but knowing that we have done it before and have every right to expect to do it again.

That is kind of how I feel as the year is like climbing a mountain, but then, when one's birthday falls upon the first day of the year, things end up being kind of disapointing at times!
