The Spark in Review: December 7, 2018

The Spark in Review is the week’s news at Allspark, fresh in package. This week, Wave 1 of War for Cybertron: Siege is rolling out, with the next wave of Studio Series Voyagers and Leaders on the way, Wave 2 of the TCG has been teased, and Ricochet and Red Swoop of the Generations Selects lineup were revealed for preorders.

Toy News and Reveals:

While no new figures have been revealed for War for Cybertron: Siege, the retail rollout has begun, including a possibly unintended flash sale of the Wave 1 Deluxes (and Voyagers) on the HasbroToyShop web store. A hidden message campaign has also been revealed, with passwords hidden on toy packaging to unlock content on the Transformers website after January 3.

Meanwhile, in-package images have been obtained for the next round of Studio Series Voyagers and Leaders, with Optimus Prime and Jetfire, Megatron, and Bonecrusher, who we’re sure hates image leaks. And preorders have opened for the surprise Power of the Primes redecos Ricochet and Red Swoop launched as “Generations Selects” items, including at our sponsors TFSource and BigBadToyStore (Ricochet and Swoop).

Comics, Games, and Media:

IDW have released their shipping list for December 12. They’ve also announced the recipient of this years’ Love is Love graphic novel charity proceeds, which totaled over $51,000.

In gaming news, the second wave of the Transformers TCG has been teased with the reveal of the upcoming Windblade in robot mode. Meanwhile, Transformers: Earth Wars has released event details for the weekend plus information on the upcoming Goldfire (based on Generations Goldfire Bumblebee, in turn based on IDW’s Robots in Disguise Bumblebee design with Goldbug elements) and Ramjet, and have a separate free loot offer still open until Monday.

As usual, Hasbro has released Transformers: Cyberverse Episode 13, “Matrix of Leadership”, to YouTube.

That’s all for this week, but check out last week’s Spark in Review if you’re still catching up, and to keep up to date, join us on the Allspark Forums, or visit our Discord channel or Facebook group.
