The Spark in Review: November 2, 2018

The Spark in Review is the week’s news at Allspark in box set form with new shoes. But this week, a very different sort of combiner was revealed at MCM London Comic Con in the form of Studio Series Devastator, the first Siege sightings rolled in alongside new toy reveals, and Transformers: BotBots had its first full reveal.

Toy News and Reveals:
While the big news this week came from Studio Series at the London and Paris shows, there’s some news in War for Cybertron: Siege as well. A very early retail sighting surfaced for Optimus Prime and Megatron, and new stock photos and renders have been released, the latter revealing Prowl, Six-Gun, and the new Battle Master Pteraxadon (who is exactly what he sounds like.) A hint also surfaced of the new Prowl mold in a Barricade deco.
But the big news, physically, is in Studio Series, with the spotting and reveal of Devastator, to say nothing of Bonecrusher and a Revenge of the Fallen Jetfire and Optimus Prime combining pair, as well as The Last Knight Cogman and Bumblebee Shatter. Devastator, who adjusts the member roster slightly to include a couple of notable Constructicons from the film not included in the on-screen combination, was shown in prototype mock-up form in his combined state, while three of his members have been revealed in stock renders. For convenience, we’ve wrapped up our Studio Series reveal coverage in a summary article.
Also revealed in some detail at MCM Comic Con London was the BotBots lineup of fully transforming blind-packed figures based on an assortment of household item themes, said to be the result of an energon incident in a shopping mall and divided into “tribes” according to theme.
Meanwhile, Alfes2010 has posted a Masterpiece Cordon (police Sunstreaker) gallery, and in-hand images have surfaced of the Chinese exclusive JD Red Knight.
Comics, Games, and Media:
IDW have released their shipping list for November 7 and the Lost Light #25 preview. They’ve also revealed a Ghostbusters and Men in Black team-up board game set for launch late next year, including adorable miniatures of the characters.

In gaming news, Transformers: Earth Wars has revealed event details and new characters for this weekend. Outside Transformers, Blizzard have scored their first Amiibo in the form of the Loot Goblin, and the Playstation Classic’s full game list, including classics like Rayman, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy VII, and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, has been revealed.
If you’re keeping up with Transformers: Cyberverse or thinking about catching up, Episode 9, “Shadowstriker”, has hit YouTube, continuing the series’ unparalleled availability for a Transformers cartoon.
