Captain Picard Returns! Sir Patrick Stewart Makes It So At Star Trek Vegas!
Nearly twenty years after what seemed like Sir Patrick Stewarts final voyage as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek Nemesis. Now, the veteran actor is set to return as he breaks the news and Wows the crowds at Star Trek Las Vegas. Make It So!
Sir Patrick Stewart, star of stage and screen, has played many roles ranging from Captain Ahab, to Ebenezer Scrooge, to the X-Mens Professor Charles Xavier. However, perhaps his best known role, is that of Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise-D in Star Trek The Next Generation. Starting in 1987, the series ran for seven seasons and four theatrical films until Stewart finally lay down his Phaser and Comm badge for the last time.
Well, now he’s back!
Appearing at Star Trek Vegas, Sir Patrick Stewart spoke of how an “Unknown British Stage Actor” originally got the role, how he never foresaw just how long it would last, as well as how Star Treks influence and the nature of such a long-running role had affected his career, for better or worse. Finally though, he spoke about how, despite his misgivings beforehand, he would be returning to the worlds and civilizations of Star Trek as Jean-Luc Picard. Although he teased that Picard may not be quite as we remember him. Time has passed, things have changed and Picard may no longer even be a Captain!
