Hasbro Second Quarter 2018 Financial Results
Dig out your official Allspark Accountant Hat and fire up your calculator, because Hasbro got some numbers and you don’t want to miss them, yo.
Hasbro has released some figures on their results for the second quarter of 2018, and naturally there’s some interesting stuff in there for our community.
First, let’s dig up the lede: it was not a great quarter for Transformers, with Franchise Brand revenue dropping by 8 percent (almost fifty million dollars) from the same quarter last year. Some declines in toy sales are unsurprisingly attributed to the collapse of Toys”R”Us.
Stronger areas included partner brands Marvel and Beyblade, and gaming (notably Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, two powerhouse brands which are about to get smoochy together).
There is also mention of the portfolio-strengthening Power Rangers acquisition.
For the whole juicy deal, head over to Hasbro’s news release, after which you know you will want to get all up in that discussion in our forums, our Facebook group or our Discord server!
