Meet director Travis Knight in new Behind-the-Scenes video for Bumblebee

On the heels of last week’s trailer for the upcoming Transformers spin-off movie Bumblebee, Paramount Pictures has now released a new behind-the-scenes video so you can get to know the movie’s director just a little bit better!

Starting off, the video gives a brief overview of the projects Travis Knight has overseen at Laika Entertainment, the stop motion animation company he co-founded and runs, including his directorial debut Kubo and the Two Strings. Of course, Knight talks about how the lessons he learned about directing and storytelling at Laika will carry over to Bumblebee as well. Knight goes on to compare Bumblebee to the kinds of classic, Steven Spielberg-ian films that he grew up on in the 1980s. Also featured are interviews with Bumblebee producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena about working with Knight.

While the movie footage seen in the video is largely the same as in last week’s debut trailer for the film, there are behind-the-scenes clips that hint at things not seen in that trailer, such as Hailee Steinfeld at some sort of carnival or amusement park along with a clip of Knight and a dirtied-up John Cena talking in front of a burning helicopter. Also seen is Ms. Steinfeld being held inside of a physical prop of Bumblebee’s arm, which Travis Knight later uses to fistbump the cameraman.

You can check out this behind-the-scenes look at Bumblebee in the video embedded below! And bee sure to make a beeline for either the Bumblebee movie discussion thread on the Allspark forums or the Transformers TV and Movies channel on the Allspark Discord server!

Noa

As a child Noa missed the premier of Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001) because they were on a camping trip they didn't want to be on and from then on has dedicated their life to trying to make up for missing out on that.
