Boss Fight Studios Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Mighty Steeds Kickstarter Succeeds With Time to Spare!
Boss Fight Studios, the creators of the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. (Highly Articulated Character Kit System) line of 4″ historical/fantasy action figures, as well as a line of equally highly articulated Bucky O’Hare figures, has returned with a Kickstarter to expand their toyline with a range of 1:18 scale mounts, the Mighty Steeds!
Mighty Steeds features the same level of articulation, customisation and accessories that Boss Fight is known for. From horse to pegasus to unicorn to elk, even centaurs get in on the action this time!
If you’re already hooked, scroll down to check out the Kickstarter. Otherwise, here’s a little bit of history for those confused as to what this is.
Several years back, a group of former Hasbro employees and freelance toy designers, who have worked on everything from Marvel to Stars Wars, Beyblade to Transformers and G.I. Joe, got together to form Boss Fight Studios. They then launched a Kickstarter for their proposed new line of historical/fantasy action figures: Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. After achieving their goal, they launched the first series: Greeks and Gorgons!
These 4″ action figures, in a similar size class to the 3 3/4 / 3.75″ Star Wars, Marvel or G.I. Joe figures, introduced you to a world of mighty Spartan and Amazon warriors locked in combat with the monstrous snake hordes of Medusa. With multiple multicoloured armour packs, ancient heroes of legend and ‘blanks’ (basic, unmodified and unpainted figures), along with the easily-to-disassemble nature of the figures, Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. is designed to be as fun to customise and personalise as it is to simply play with. Swap parts from one figure to the other, mix and match armour types, and add your own personal paint scheme to a hero or monster; the basic figures and ‘blanks’ allow you to do that. Want Spike Witwicky, Snake Plissken, and Conan to fight together? All it takes is a little patience, paint and imagination. Further Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. series have introduced even more fantastical elements into the mix, as Orcs, Elves, Knights and Mages wage war.
And now, Boss Fight Studio is bringing all of this innovation to the animal world in their new Mighty Steeds line. Horses, elks and centaurs (both male and female), with customisation options for unicorns and pegasi. Tack and armour kits for Romans, knights, and Elven riders. Centaur armour, jousting gear, Bright and Dark variants of both the Unicorn and Pegasus figures, as well as Kickstarter exclusives such as the 1980s rainbow themed Sara Francis Unicorn, or the Aztec themed Sugar Skull. As the design images show below, the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. line is about to get a whole lot bigger and even more exciting!
Because as Boss Fight says: Why have a horse if it can’t be played with and posed as dynamically as your figures?
