Takara Shinkalion Anime – Hatsune Miku and 500 TYPE EVA Dates Announced
Via the official site for TakaraTomy’s Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion franchise, we now know when the Hatsune Miku character and the Neon Genesis Evangelion-themed Shinkansen will appear in the ongoing Shinkalion TV anime.
Based on the voice synthesizer program, Hatsune Miku will debut in episode 15 of the anime on Saturday 21 April 2018 as the driver of the Shinkalion H5 Hayabusa
While the original vocaloid character’s name is written as “初音ミク” in Japanese, the Shinkalion character’s name is spelled “発音ミク”, with the kanji for “first” replaced with the kanji for “departure”.
Meanwhile, 500 TYPE EVA will debut in episode 17 of the anime on Saturday 5 May 2018.
The 500 TYPE EVA is a special service of the 500 series Shinkansen run by JR West in conjunction with the producers of the anime franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion. Running between Shin-Osaka Station and Hakata Station, its final service will be Sunday 13 May 2018.
Takara began the Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion franchise in 2015 as a spin-off of the Plarail toy train system. The franchise received a television series that began broadcasting 6 January 2018 on TBS in Japan. Though anime is not currently available in other territories, new episodes are available for one week after broadcast debut on the TakaraTomy and Shinkalion YouTube channels.
