Chris Ryall Leaving IDW
The Beat’s Heidi MacDonald has reported that Chris Ryall is saying farewell to his position as IDW’s Editor-in-Chief after 14 years with the company.
Ryall has been instrumental in many of IDW’s successes and is particularly known for his long love affair with Rom and his tireless quest to bring that classic character back to comics as a member of the IDW family.
Ryall subsequently tweeted a note that an official announcement from IDW would be on the way:
The business of leaving a 14-year job eats up a lot of hours so it seems sometimes word can leak out before there’s time to announce it publicly– but it’s true, I’m stepping aside from IDW. We’ll announce things properly soon… https://t.co/qWS0GmRub8

This is not the first movement among senior management at IDW recently, so it looks like the company may be entering a new era. With the coming of Unicron, the future of the Hasbro Universe and the Transformers books is unclear, but it seems likely that IDW’s strong relationship with Hasbro will continue.
