Hasbro & Fox Partner With Ryan Reynolds For New Clue Movie

Deadline Hollywood brings us exciting news about a Deadpooly new Clue movie, hot on the heels of (but probably – and sadly – not related to) the recent IDW book!

After signing a deal with Twentieth Century Fox, Ryan Reynolds and his production company Maximum Effort will produce, with Reynolds also expected to star. Fox hopes to score a screenplay from  Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of the first Deadpool movie.

We have no plot details yet – will we see a modernised remake of the original 1985 film? Will IDW’s excellent reimagining be an influence? Or will we see something completely new, using only the board game as its inspiration? Will the combination of “crime solving” and “Ryan Reynolds” mean an inevitable Detective Pikachu crossover? Whatever form the film takes, here’s hoping it comes with a very thin fourth wall.
