Trailer for James Cameron’s Alita: Battle Angel

20th Century Fox have released a trailer for James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film Alita: Battle Angel. American adaptations of classic manga… haven’t been universally excellent, so can Alita beat the odds and not be utterly dreadful? The trailer may give you some hints.

The movie is based on Yukito Kishiro’s classic manga Gunnm, launched in 1990 and localised for US release as Battle Angel Alita. A two-episode anime adaptation followed in 1993.

James Cameron’s take on the story has been in the works for many years – Fox was apparently registering related domains as early as June 2000. Rosa Salazar stars as amnesiac cyborg Alita, alongside Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley and Keean Johnson.

Opening day is July 20, 2018. Book your tickets now and join us in our forums to share your thoughts.
