New High-Res Images Of MTMTE And *Former* RID #38 RI Covers
You may have seen the tiny versions on the previews for the respective issues of both this week’s books, but we now have them in beautiful high resolution. Let’s see what’s in store for us this week!
Both Retailer Incentive covers are by Jeffrey Veregge. You may not recognise the name, but his style is certainly memorable It’s a mix of minimalist values and what appears to be a strong helping of influence from, of all things, the arts and crafts movement of the late 19th/early 20th centuries. They manage to have a very organic feel to the way they’re drawn, making them feel more at home in the art noveau section as opposed to the general pop art you’d first want to place them in. They’re definitely an interesting departure for these limited covers, and Jeffrey is obviously a very talented artist.
Enjoy the larger images below (click the thumbnails to enlarge the images), and look for both covers in comic stores this week: More Than Meets The Eye 38 for Megatron, and Transformers 38 for Optimus Prime.
Do you enjoy these more ‘artsy’ covers, or prefer the tried and true ‘vanilla’ covers? Are you an art expert who can tell us just how badly we did on guessing the artist’s influences? Sign up at the Allspark Forums and let your voice be heard!
Any breaks taken from posting new articles are probably caused by having to hack away at a thousand deadly animals between him and his keyboard. Or so he'd like us to think...
