Mairghread Scott talks “Combiner Wars” with Comics Alliance!

Recently Mairghread Scott sat down to chat with Comics Alliance about the upcoming “Combiner Wars” event at IDW. They really ran her through the paces and it’s a great read. Scott runs down the scale (pun intended) of Combiners and why they’re such a huge (yup, again) deal to Cybertron:

Combiners are the A-bombs of the Transformer world, but they are A-bombs with their own thoughts and feelings. Whoever can gain the loyalty of Combiners will be unstoppable — for as long as they can hold it.

Well that certainly sounds ominous!

Scott also talks about working alongside John Barber, Sarah Stone, and Livio Ramondelli to bring this event to life and how she writes certain characters. As one would expect, she particularly brings readers into the head of Windblade, succinctly relating her origins and relationships with other characters. Not only will the Windblade series be ongoing, but we’re finally going to meet Caminus and its people, and it’s apparently going to be very interesting:

I’m really excited about Issue #1 of Transformers: Windblade, where you get to meet the rulers of Caminus, who are going to shake up a lot of people’s expectations. I also can’t wait for Transformers: Windblade #3 (the finale of “Combiner Wars”) because I finally get to introduce a character I’ve been dying to write for the last half a decade. People are going to freak out. Genuinely…freak…out.

I think it’s safe to say this is going to be big. Maybe even massive.

Okay, all punned out. “Combiner Wars” starts in March with Transformers #39! Read the full article at Comics Alliance!
