Mark Wahlberg in for Two More Transformers Films

Courtesy of ComicBookMovie.com, we have coverage of the press junket scene for Mark Wahlberg’s new film The Gambler. Of course, we’re much more interested in the news he dropped about the Transformers film franchise. Check out the quote and speculation after the break, but the full article and video are available at at ComicBookMovie.com

Alright, so the relavent quote:

After Michael Bay, director of the first four films, chose to just produce and not direct the fifth film, it was uncertain whether or not star Mark Wahlberg, who played Cade Yeager, would return to the franchise. While promoting his upcoming release The Gambler, Wahlberg spoke with MTV about the future of the Transformers franchise and seemingly confirmed his involvement in the upcoming sequel as well as possibly another sequel or two: “Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more… you know I can’t speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon.”

What does this mean for the film franchise? Let us know your thoughts here in the discussion thread.
