Universal Studios Planning Beijing Theme Park for 2019, May Include Transformers

LA Times reports a $3.3 billion, 300 acre theme park has been agreed to after 13 years of negotiations by Universal Parks and Resorts and Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Co. Ltd.  While there are not many details at this time about the park, planned to open in 2019 and expected to feature distinct “Chinese elements,” speculation is that franchises such as Transformers, Despicable Me, and Harry Potter are likely candidates due to their popularity in China.
