First Look At Alex Ross Variant Cover For Star Wars #1
From a galaxy far, far away, to an entertainment site not far enough away. EW has shown the Ross variant cover, and it’s a scene-stealer.
It homages the original Star Wars #1 cover, from Marvel in 1977. It was rendered beautifully by Howard Chaykin, and now Alex Ross is sprucing it up for a whole new generation of fans. We knew there’d be a tonne of variant covers, but this one does appear to be a decisive victor on the pure aesthetics front. Ross’ covers for the recent Dark Horse general ongoing title were nice, but this one manages to be spectacular, simply by focusing on what worked the first time around, then adding a coat of fresh paint.
Any breaks taken from posting new articles are probably caused by having to hack away at a thousand deadly animals between him and his keyboard. Or so he'd like us to think...
