Shoko Nakagawa in Japanese Dub of “Transformers: Age of Extinction”

Who is Shoko Nakagawa, one may ask? WHO THE PIT DO YOU THINK SHE IS?! Straight from her own Twitter feed, and via Japanese movie news site Eiga.com, she’ll be the Japanese voice of Nicola Peltz’s character Tessa Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction!

Mind the rough translation:

The latest Transformers work, Lost Age! I will be challenged with the important task of dubbing the role of Tessa, the protagonist’s daughter. Combine, transform, Optimus! I have childhood memories of watching “Transformers: Victory”. Similar to Rapunzel, always remain. It’s a magnificent and welcome honor! Look forward to summer.

For anime fans, she’s a familiar voice on singing a variety of opening and ending theme, most famously the opening “Sorairo Days” to Gurren Lagann, as well “Ray of Light” for one of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood‘s ending themes. She’s also been the voice of Athena in Saint Seiya Omega and a variety of roles in other anime series.

Transformers: Age of Extinction rolls out on June 27, 2014, in the US, and August, 8, 2014, in Japan. Voice out at our discussion thread!
