Official Announcement And Art For Angry Birds/Transformers Crossover

Second photo on official announcement

The infamous ‘Hasbro list’ has again proved correct, with the official announcement of this crossover line, showing us old favourites re-imagined in a charming way that should hopefully appeal to the casual shopper, in the style of the hit game titles by Rovio Entertainment, as we await confirmation of breadth of this new Hasbro/Rovio Entertainment venture.

As expected, the heroic Birds are the Autobots, leaving the Decepticons to show their true oinking nature. The art is a nice mix of some familiar Transformers art layouts with the light cartoon style of the Angry Birds universe.

Transformers fans will also note that the Transformers characters selected are not all from the same continuity, something that should please fans both new and old. This is the second time Hasbro and Rovio have teamed up, making a trifecta of  crossover lines, with the popular ‘Angry Birds: Star Wars’ line currently available at retail, and for mobile gaming. We now wait to see a further look at just how these franchise juggernauts will provide material for both a possible toy line, and mobile game, as was done with Star Wars and Angry Birds before this, with both games and toyline available.

We’d also like to note that Starscream finally verifies an age-old witticism, and is set to really show us what happens ‘when pigs fly’, and just what happens when they really get some altitudes in the familiar Decepticon fighter jets.

See the official Press Release below and discuss in Jalaguy’s thread in our forums.
