Michael Bay Says “Let the Transformers Haters, Hate” – Why He Won’t Let Go of the Franchise

Director of the four live action Transformers movies, Michael Bay, knows that even the most critical of his fans will go see his movies, no matter the cost. In a recent interview with MTV Bay stated that: “They love to hate, and I don’t care. Let them hate. They’re still going to see the movie! I think it’s good to get a little tension. Very good.” following up with how he doesn’t really care anymore about what people have to say about his movies, “I used to get bothered by it, but I think it’s good to get the dialogue going. It makes me think, and it keeps me on my toes, so it’s good.”

In another interview with Bay, he said that one of the reasons why he does not leave the franchise is because, quote: I figured that some director is going to have to come in and redesign the entire franchise, recast it, and it would be a nightmare for someone who doesn’t know it like the back of their hand. That’s so much work. Two years to redesign every character and come up with new characters, a brand new cast… it’s daunting.”  So my fellow Transformers fans let the hate flow through you because Bay won’t let it go anytime soon.
