With the second issue of 2010 coverage, this month’s issue provides more images of the characters, with the tech specs comparison that is practically a guarantee when a new series begins. Surprisingly, although the second spread compares the tech specs of the new 2010 Transformers, all Transformers pictured aside from subleaders Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus are surviving Transformers from previous seasons. instead of just randomly layering the images on top of each other, Magami Ban has the characters interacting well with one-another, as Seaspray and Ramhorn cheer from beneath Magnus’s legs while Frenzy clings to Cyclonus and peeks from behind him. Perceptor’s helmet seems to be miscolored red instead of black.
On the next page, Predaking is stomping on Superion while Defensor looks on in horror. In a somewhat unfortunate combination, Rodimus Prime is delighted as he gives a thumbs-up for the secret notebook giveaway.
In the black and white episode guide pages, a summary is given for Five Faces of Darkness. Really, you’d be better off reading this than watching the actual episodes. And hey, it’s U-Haul Robot! Magami’s depictions are a lot more impressive than the actual episode, and probably got a lot of kids through FFOD who would have otherwise been turned off by its notoriously poor AKOM animation.
