ILM Videos on “Transformers” SFX

{mosimage}It's really short, and it's a bit of a blast to the past back when the live-action Transformers came out in 2007. Scott Farrar, Visual Effects Supervisor of Industrial Light & Magic, talks a bit about the work when it came to animating Autobots and Decepticons in the first film, making note of the lighting that had to be reflected off of the metal parts correctly and realistically. He also mentions a bit of the process on the sequence of Megatron flying through a building with Optimus on his back before they start making asphalt cracking during their battle. If you're interested in CGI, these two short videos can give additional insight on behind the scenes. Part 1 and Part 2.
