8.8-8.9 Earthquake Near Sendai, Japan

{mosimage}At approximately 2:46PM Japan Time, March 11, 2011, an 8.8 to 8.9 earthquake on the Richter scale occurred about 150 kilometers east of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, followed by a 10 meter (34 feet) high tsunami. Other prefectures affected by the earthquake along the east coast of Japan include Fukushima, Ibaraki, and Chiba, to name a few.

Hobby Link Japan, located in Tochigi Prefecture, has tweeted photos of their warehouse and said that they're fine, but aftershocks continue to crop up. Also, due to the damages, there will be major disruptions to international postal services.

Our prayers and wishes for the safety of those living Japan right now.
