Rumor Busted: TF3 NOT Filming in Guam

{mosimage}Sometime earlier, there was a rumor about Transformers 3 filming at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam, so claimed by an assumed airman at Comic Book Movie. From Guam Pacific Daily News, that rumor has been deemed false:

Andersen Air Force Base yesterday dismissed Internet rumors that a portion of Transformers 3 would be filmed at the Guam base and that some airmen might become extras in the mega-budget sequel.

Sergeant Mike Andriacco said this was untrue.

“It’s just a rumor,” Andriacco said yesterday.

For Transformers and any movie to work with an Air Force installation they must work with an entertainment liaison office based in Hollywood, Andriacco said. The production office would then contact the individual facility or base to plan cooperation or a shooting schedule.

11:15 a.m. — Maybe it’s just a Decepticon ruse.

Andersen Air Force Base yesterday dismissed Internet rumors that a portion of Transformers 3 would be filmed at the Guam base and that some airmen might become extras in the mega-budget sequel.

Fan sites ComicBookMovie.com and Tformers.com spread word over the weekend a tipster had said DreamWorks planned to film some of the movie in Andersen.

Yesterday, Andersen spokesman Tech.

This hasn’t happened, so there is no way filming has been planned at Andersen, Andriacco said.

Transformers 3 follows the continuing conflict between warring faction of giant robots from a distant planet that can change shape to disguise themselves on Earth. The first two movies in the series were summer blockbusters met with huge financial success.

Transformers 3 is scheduled for release in 2011, according to the Internet Movie Database, or www.IMDB.com.
