Feelin’ Kinda… Optimus?
So the screenplay by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman has brought Alias and Mission: Impossible alums to our illustrious and notable film franchise's genesis, but now we can also count a brainstrust consisting of contributors to Borat, Dodgeball, and Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle: recently, according to this LA Times article , Kurtzman and Orci called together a dream team roundtable consisting of David Ayer ("Training Day," "Harsh Times"), Rawson Marshall Thurber ("Dodgeball"), Jon Hurwitz ("Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle"), Lona Williams ("Drop Dead Gorgeous"), Jeff Nathanson ("Catch Me If You Can") and Don D. Scott ("Barbershop") and none other than Mister Stand-Up Geek Number One himself, Patton Oswalt.
What does this mean for the future of the Transformers movie? Jokes. Taking what might have been a bland action shoot-em-up and turning it into an action shoot-em-up with funny parts is what these writers have been tasked to do, as Orci and Kurtzman have asked them to punch up some of the dialogue and bring a lighter edge to the movie's script.
