Optimus747 over at the TFW2005 board found an interesting auction over at the Chinese site Taobao.com. It's a boxed two-pack called "Leader for the Ages," and it features two Optimus Prime toys. "Optimus Prime 2007" is represented by the Transformers: The Movie Fast Action Battler, and "Optimus Prime 1984" is represented by... the 2006 Ultimate Battle 2-pack Classics Prime.
At this time, nothing much is known about this unusual set, including release date, country, price or whether or not it may be a store exclusive. But, check out the image at 2005, and speculate away in our Movie Forum. |

The April 27/May 4 issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine features a large full-page render of Transformers: The Movie Optimus Prime, along with a tongue-in-faceplate "Q&A" courtesy of the film's screenwriters, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
The text of the Q&A can be found at EW.com, but check out this thread at TFW2005 for the original post and a huge scan of the page.

The folks over at TFW2005 have reported here that the Transformers: The Movie and Mountain Dew promotion site is now open. As of now you can only submit to enter your e-mail address to be notified when a contest begins, which appears to be the type of contest one submits codes online that are found underneath the bottle caps for daily drawings.
One prize of interest is the listing for a Pepsi Prime. With a retail value of $29.99, could this be a movie Prime repainted in Pepsi Prime's colors? To check out the main page of the website click here, and to check out the rules and prize listings click here. Thanks go to the 2005 boards for the heads up! |

The merchandising juggernaut rolls on, as Pepsi has joined the fray with Transformers: The Movie-themed bottles, and a movie tie-in sweepstakes. Allsparker Wingus has sent us images featuring the new 20-oz bottle designs, positively plastered with the Autobot emblem and Decepticon brand, as well as instructions on how to redeem your cap codes on their (as of yet non-functional) contest website. Discuss the news here, and click "Read More" to see the bottles. |

The Transformers: The Movie Lunchables that were reported a little while back have now hit retail and have been reported in this thread at TFW2005. They seem to come with 6 different transformable toys, and some come with collectable cards on the packaging. There also seems to be a contest to win a limited edition transforming poster. Thanks go to the 2005 boards for the news! |

Our own staffer PiratedTVPro has just informed us that the Florida-based movie theater he does design work for has been given instructions from Paramount on how to hang and display the Transformers: The Movie one-sheet posters, due to be released to theaters tomorrow. Click "Read More" to view the image. Additionally, these two posters are still listed as "teasers"-- Paramount has informed theater management that additional posters, as well as a massive standee display, will be sent to theaters in the coming weeks. You can discuss the news in this thread on our forums. |

TFW2005 notes that Mania Music has reported a re-release of the soundtrack to the original 1986 Transformers: The Movie, with new bonus tracks! While nowhere near as complete as the BotCon 1997 2-disc "Til All Are One" set, this new edition will contain three new tracks from Vince DiCola's instrumental score, and an alternate version of the Transformers theme by Stan Bush. The new 20th Anniversary Edition (released 21 years after the original movie...) is due out May 29, according to the original news item here.
