So, whether or not the ship was Trypticon, I hope it was, there's still the question of who gave it the orders to prioritize Project Iacon.

HIGHLIGHT to view:

Between this and some of the previous episodes, Jack's shaping up to be rather hardcore.

At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if they did the whole "your father was black ops / intelligence / super-human (et cetra) and disappeared while on a mission" angle to justify it.

Also, NEW YORK CITY! What is THAT gonna be like in this show?

Subway tunnels.

Lots and lots of subway tunnels.

Another fun episode, I love how this show just keeps throwing things at us again and again.

I laughed at Ratchet punching Knockout at the end.

They'd better watch out for Alligatorcons. I understand they are both big and heavy.

I don't think military training is genetic. But if you're on to something, I hope Fowler is his father. Not Silas though.

So, here's what I'm thinking.. and maybe it's a red herring or I'm reading too much into it. I think the ship is Unicron and he's trying to get out of Earth.

Obviously, the ship wasn't John Nobel, but the way he referred to them as "Cybertronions" and the call back to Galvatron being tortured in the 1986 film with the ship doing the same to Megatron, to me those are clues that build on the premise that it was being fueled by Unicron's blood. The same dark energon that Unicron was using to control Megatron, a sentient creature where as the ship is just a (pardon the pun) vessel.

I was more stoked to see Fowler in on the action than anything else. I hope he puts in a lot more face time.

Especially now that we know he's Jack's dad.

Also, had a bit of a nerd-rection when I heard the ship's 'stasis blasts' were actually Zat'ni'katel blasts. Guess it's a good thing no one got shot twice.

It just seems to me like half the time folks in Hollywood need to justify why a seemingly random Joe / Jane is suddenly awesome, that's the excuse they whip out: one or both parents were so awesome at their jobs they wound up proving Lamarck right.

Good episode.

Nice to have the trio team up with Fowler (SWEET LADY LIBERTY!!)

The Ship's voice was great, and mysterious.

He's just taking something I said earlier and running with it.

Personally, I think that was just a heavy handed way of saying that only the humans will be able to sneak on board.

Good episode, but was anyone else expecting that the kids would end up using the spark extractor on the ship? I mean, the episode seemed to make a big deal of putting the McGuffin in play, only to leave it unused. Eh, I suppose it might get used in the next episode.

Well honestly I forget how big an area the spark extractor effects, but I was thinking it'd get used to eliminate the ship's personality. I wasn't thinking in terms of eliminating everyone.

Of course, that is another use. It just didn't occur to me.

Yeah. My dad is a mechanic, and you REALLY don't want me working on your car!

Cool ep, I was kinda hoping that Megatron would still be kind of aware and have Jack look him right in the eye and say "Now that's TWO you owe me!" or something like that. "One" being when Jack chose not to drill straight through Megatron's head.

I think having the spark extractor was to silence all those people who go apejive when something gets stored and never seen again.

So the next 4+ episodes will be the Autobots and Decepticons going to the four locations as decoded from the Iacon files, huh?

It all began in '84. Kept on rollin' in '85. The pieces were in place in '86, and it came to an end in '87. But now it comes, and here we go. Transformers is here again. Nothing's gonna stop it 'cause it's 1988!
