So, whether or not the ship was Trypticon, I hope it was, there's still the question of who gave it the orders to prioritize Project Iacon.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
I'm thinking Shockwave.

Between this and some of the previous episodes, Jack's shaping up to be rather hardcore.

At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if they did the whole "your father was black ops / intelligence / super-human (et cetra) and disappeared while on a mission" angle to justify it.

"At my last intern briefing, Craig was clearly tired. His message had changed to, "Stay out of trouble, period." It seemed that, as director of security, Livingstone was growing old fast. If he didn't watch out, he'd become one of us - a 'Mormon' or a 'straight,' which is what Clinton staffers called FBI agents, the Secret Service, and former Bush employees."

I'm glad all 3 kids finally got a chance to get in on the action; I felt there's kinda been a lack of that this season (not saying we should go back to Miko being an idiot over and over, but I like seeing all the kids getting in on the act every now and again).

And for everyone joking last episode that Megatron never acts with surprise about anything, he sure as hell didn't see the Nemesis gaining sentience and overthrowing him as a possible consequence. Seeing him momentarily flustered was actually pretty entertaining.

Knock-Out playing dentists with Jack at the end and Ratchet's last minute rescue was great. Like the kids, I enjoy seeing Ratchet physically take part every now and again.

Also, NEW YORK CITY! What is THAT gonna be like in this show? We're going to go from a small town that's mostly desert with about 4 background citizen to one of the most densely populated metropolitan areas on the planet? I hope the animators can handle that.

Subway tunnels.

Lots and lots of subway tunnels.
Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.

Another fun episode, I love how this show just keeps throwing things at us again and again.

I laughed at Ratchet punching Knockout at the end.

They'd better watch out for Alligatorcons. I understand they are both big and heavy.

I don't think military training is genetic. But if you're on to something, I hope Fowler is his father. Not Silas though.

So, here's what I'm thinking.. and maybe it's a red herring or I'm reading too much into it. I think the ship is Unicron and he's trying to get out of Earth.

Obviously, the ship wasn't John Nobel, but the way he referred to them as "Cybertronions" and the call back to Galvatron being tortured in the 1986 film with the ship doing the same to Megatron, to me those are clues that build on the premise that it was being fueled by Unicron's blood. The same dark energon that Unicron was using to control Megatron, a sentient creature where as the ship is just a (pardon the pun) vessel.

I was more stoked to see Fowler in on the action than anything else. I hope he puts in a lot more face time.

Especially now that we know he's Jack's dad.

Also, had a bit of a nerd-rection when I heard the ship's 'stasis blasts' were actually Zat'ni'katel blasts. Guess it's a good thing no one got shot twice.

It just seems to me like half the time folks in Hollywood need to justify why a seemingly random Joe / Jane is suddenly awesome, that's the excuse they whip out: one or both parents were so awesome at their jobs they wound up proving Lamarck right.

Good episode.

Nice to have the trio team up with Fowler (SWEET LADY LIBERTY!!)

The Ship's voice was great, and mysterious.

He's just taking something I said earlier and running with it.

Personally, I think that was just a heavy handed way of saying that only the humans will be able to sneak on board.

Megatron explained that the ship had become an extension of his will, so I didn't take it as being possessed by Unicron, but as basically becoming a second Megatron (hence its refusal to take orders). The Dark Energon, I think, was just a plot device; a means to create the conflict and solve it just as quickly.

Good episode, but was anyone else expecting that the kids would end up using the spark extractor on the ship? I mean, the episode seemed to make a big deal of putting the McGuffin in play, only to leave it unused. Eh, I suppose it might get used in the next episode.

And yes, I was too lazy to come up with a decent TF related forum name, and just *GASP* used my own.

Er... That's a good point.

The kids could've wiped everyone out in a single blow; screw the Iacon files.

Well honestly I forget how big an area the spark extractor effects, but I was thinking it'd get used to eliminate the ship's personality. I wasn't thinking in terms of eliminating everyone.

Of course, that is another use. It just didn't occur to me.

Well, apparently Prime felt confident that if Bumblebee activated it while still on the ground (or jumping up to the halfway point between the ground and the Nemesis), it would be effective-enough to wipe out all the Decepticons. So I guess it has a pretty wide radius.
