So I was thinking about Spectrawave and Paradron Medic and her friends and observed that they share an inordinate amount of green coloration. So I went looking for other medics, and found that quite a few had green as their primary/secondary color as well.

Now, here's some observations.
These span universes and continuities, so if you care to give credence to it, green may be a universal medic color.
Medics more often appear in red and white, a coloration recognized on Earth as Red Cross or medical aid.
Perhaps the Green+red/white coloration symbolized nutrality or pacifist stance, and when a medic decided to take up arms for a certain side, they drop the green and stick with red/white.
This does not explain Bayformers or SG Ratchet however. Maybe they're just being jerks.
Just some interesting thoughts.

In human society, the colors of red and white come from blood and bandages (like the colors on the traditional barber pole: Red - blood, White- Bandages). Bright green (or yellow) for emergency vehicles is a common Highly Visible Color, which is nice for any kind of vehicle that might be tearing down the road for an emergency.

Obviously Cybertronians wouldn't have the same imagery for blood and bandages (unless they've taken on an Earth mode, like Ratchet), but the green still makes sense as a Highly Visible Color (assuming their color perception works the same as ours). It makes sense for medics to be very visible, especially battlefield medics, since in civilized warfare (HA!) soldiers don't fire on medical teams, as they're supposed to be neutral. In addition, if medics can be seen easily, a wounded soldier might be able to make their way to the, or otherwise signal their need for help.

Of course, the real reason so many medics have similar colors is that, well, the readers/viewers are human (obviously), and those colors are cues to us that these are medical bots.

Both of those Signal Flares you've listed are Earth vehicles in a military-style deco. I'm pretty sure you can safely say that they're, y'know, not green for some Cybertronian culture reason.

Buildup is expressly part of the GREEN MINI-CON TEAM, so we know where his green colour comes from.

SG Ratchet comes from a 'mirror universe', so I think he hardly counts.

Movie Ratchet is in an explicitly earth-based colour scheme and he even appears in the movie in a non-green colourscheme as a protoform!

And as for "Spectrawave" is that the primarilly pink guy from the G.I. Joe/TF crossover? He's primarily pink.

Signal Flare is a medic?

Also, Cons apparently do not use this, as their medics (Hook, Scalpel, Glit for example) have no such patterns or colors.

I'm wondering more what the symbolism tying the Bulkheads and the Hounds of the multiverse together with Rid Rollbar is.
