Oh look, aren't you soooo Bug-Saw for overreacting to an innocuous and clearly hate-free statement.

I've been on the internet long enough to know when some one is pretending to be ignorant of something as a way of demeaning it.

If you genuinely interpret "Japanimation" as an insult then you are a person who takes their Japanimation way too seriously.

And I suppose you've honestly never heard of Space Battleship Yamato? Not even the american version Starblazers?

YAMATO.

YAY.

EDIT: So it's a remake of the first season, with modern anime sensibilites, and without the designs of Leiji Matusmoto. Okay. I can deal, as long as the characters remain close, and Wildstars motivations remain the same.

I can't help being silly when Trix are for kids.

Anyway, I think the only Leiji Matsumoto production I've ever seen were his Daft Punk music videos. Those were neat. Star Blazers was probably a bit before my time and I don't think they reran it when I was a kid.

Preview looked like it had some pretty animation, though.

Like I said, this is without his designs, atleast for the characters, it seems.

I would really recommend tracking down the Galaxy Express 999 {Three nine} movies. Easy way to try out his work without getting into the sagas.

Couple things.. I changed the title to make it more descriptive.

Japanamation is indeed regarded as a derogatory term.

I too have never heard of this anime, and I doubt most Americans, even nerds, have.
So chill and stay on topic.

When I went through my "anime phase" from about 2000-2004 it didn't come up.
