So new toys for the Protectobots but who are the tank and jet? New characters?

Edited by Bass X0, 09 February 2012 - 10:23 AM.

It all began in '84. Kept on rollin' in '85. The pieces were in place in '86, and it came to an end in '87. But now it comes, and here we go. Transformers is here again. Nothing's gonna stop it 'cause it's 1988!

Gaokaiser translated the Protectobots names on TFW2005:

QUOTE
police car=Streetwise
ambulance=Firstaid
helicopter=Graze
bike=Groove
jet fighter=Skyfeather
drill tank=Heatrock
They combine into Gaia Guardian.
Gaia Guardian and Hotspot form into God Guardian.

What is with Japan lately and adding in Drill tanks? Did they run out of ideas or build a surplus that they need to export ASAP?

Still, nice looking kits all around!
Clearing out some old TFs and Mugenbine in my BST Thread. You know you want some of these.

What do you mean, lately?
I'll remind you of Twin Twist back in the 80s, not to mention 99% of Brave combiners!

You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world....

I'm reading that with Roy's voice. Heck, I read everything you post in a laconic Irish accent.

Plus Drill from Machine Robo (Drillhead in Gobots) was one of the main characters of that series.

I really like the idea of adding new members to old scramble city teams, I'd kinda prefer it if they felt a little more thematically appropriate than these though.

Coast Guard ship and say Hose Truck maybe?

Still, neat idea.

I wonder if the new Protectobots will be engineered better than the new Multiforce or if they'll still be all partsformery to hell and back.
Fall of Cybertron will blow your mind. That is all.

Huh. Gaiacross, now Gaia Defensor. I detect a theme.

(I wish the new guys were Rescue Force and Rescue Force 2.)

I just wonder whether their exteriors will be constructed entirely of stickers like some other recent toys I could name.

We can safely say that, with the limbs at least, every color there that isn't white, red or dark grey is a sticker. Gaiacross-style.

It looks like you could still build a G1 style Defensor if you wanted to, since Skyfeather apparently becomes a shield, and Heatrock a chestplate.

Yes, that's the whole point of them combining with the larger Hot Spot. They right out and say that. You can do normal Gaia Guardian or God Gaurdian whose basically Defensor with sheild and armor.

-ZacWilliam, I want to see the new guys Dery-ized now.
