@  Verity Carlo : (04 December 2016 - 01:50 AM)

She....well, I'm not sure what she turns into, but it involves her face splitting in half.

@  Verity Carlo : (04 December 2016 - 01:49 AM)

There was also Strafe for Female Dinobots.

@  LordGigaIce : (03 December 2016 - 11:57 PM)

@  LordGigaIce : (03 December 2016 - 11:57 PM)

plus the best faction insignia ever

@  Dracula : (03 December 2016 - 11:27 PM)

but yeah we need toys of those Raptoricons yesterday.

@  Dracula : (03 December 2016 - 11:27 PM)

but BW also set the precedent that the gender of the scanned beast mode doesn't need to match the robot mode...so bright colors are fine ;)

@  BlackMax : (03 December 2016 - 11:04 PM)

That WOULD be a very good point, except Slash has got ~all the bright colors~, and in the bird world (which as we all know is also the dino world)rampant bright colors are a male thing.

@  LordGigaIce : (03 December 2016 - 10:56 PM)

There was that one Deluxe raptor mould from AoE....GET ON IT FUNPU....oh. Now I'm sad.

@  BlackMax : (03 December 2016 - 10:54 PM)

...I did not know bout this. Maybe I should amend my comment to "we need more female Dinotobts ~who have toys~."

@  Dracula : (03 December 2016 - 10:05 PM)

@BlackMax - did you know about the Raptoricons? Currently they've only been in fan club prose but they have pretty badass designs and are all female.

@  Rycochet : (03 December 2016 - 09:21 PM)

More female dinosaur transformers would be nice, but not specifically dinobots. Never been a fan of adding new guys to that specific subgroup, it feels a bit like when ageing rock bands add new members.

@  wonko the sane? : (03 December 2016 - 09:02 PM)

Wait, swoop isn't a woman?

@  BlackMax : (03 December 2016 - 07:44 PM)

Can I just take a moment and declare that we need some female Dinobots? Because we really need some female Dinobots.

@  TM2-Megatron : (03 December 2016 - 05:41 PM)

It was awesome seeing all those heroes together on screen, though. I hope Superman and Martian Manhunter get to participate in the next crossover

@  TM2-Megatron : (03 December 2016 - 05:36 PM)

The solution was also just a bit too easy... the Dominators are apparently just big sissys, give 'em a poke with a caddle prod and they'll run off

@  TM2-Megatron : (03 December 2016 - 05:35 PM)

Yeah, I felt Arrow was the weakest entry... but after least season I kind of got turned off the show, and haven't watched any of the current season.

@  Jalaguy : (03 December 2016 - 05:34 PM)

It was good, but would've been better if Arrow hadn't co-opted its portion to do an relatively pointless anniversary episode.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (03 December 2016 - 05:31 PM)

Haven't seen any of the DC shows.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (03 December 2016 - 05:24 PM)

How did y'all feel about this week's CW DC shows crossover? I thought it was great and reminiscent of comic books!

@  BlackMax : (03 December 2016 - 08:25 AM)

I'm still exploring all the possible mods for the PC version of Fallout New Vegas.

@  Pennpenn : (02 December 2016 - 11:03 PM)

So what, my species is perfectly happy to completely obliterate an undeveloped species to make servants, go full on ADVENT on more developed worlds, but for the middle of the road species suddenly my hands ar tied? Bah.

@  Pennpenn : (02 December 2016 - 10:58 PM)

It's annoying in Stellaris how "Pre-sentient" life forms can be Uplifted (turned into sentient and loyal races) and pre-space age civs can be messed around with and taken over, but you can't do anything about "Stone Age Primitives" so they just end up as a permanent debuff to a planet and end up squatting in valuable tiles.

@  Verity Carlo : (02 December 2016 - 10:53 PM)

To put it simply, everyone is in a race to become god.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (02 December 2016 - 10:42 PM)

I'm playing Tales of Zestiria instead.

@  Touch My Thighs : (02 December 2016 - 10:10 PM)

So basically I'm 15 hours into Final Fantasy XV and it seems like they took the edgy FF7-style game they were going to make, threw it out and made something actually fun instead.

@  BlackMax : (02 December 2016 - 09:29 PM)

...and now that I've sat home a short bit I realize I completely forgot to look for Ross, TJ MAXX or Marshalls in the area. Damn.

@  ShadowMan024 : (02 December 2016 - 09:20 PM)

@  Kalidor : (02 December 2016 - 06:24 PM)

Tom Cruise sucks but I really did enjoy Edge of Tomorrow

@  Benbot : (02 December 2016 - 03:57 PM)

What? They made a new Mummy movie and cast Tom Cruise? I love Cruise, but isn't he kind of expensive? Kind of stupid to rely on his star power to boost a new franchise instead of...like...good writing? I hope it had both, but I'm not holding my breath.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (01 December 2016 - 11:36 PM)

Now if only I could get one of my GoG games to work right (well series of games) :(

My Astrotrain had that but some floor polish on the tabs helped.

@  Pennpenn : (01 December 2016 - 06:48 AM)

On the subject of recalcitrant TR voyagers, does anyone else have an issue with Sentinel Prime's legs staying together in space-brick mode?

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (01 December 2016 - 03:40 AM)

Holy crap or holy carp? ;)

Okay, so this movie comes out in January for Americans, and it's already out in the UK and Australia.

Redline is a hyper-detailed hand-animated film by Studio Madhouse who did the thing as a big long project they've been working on for ages. Basically, it's the future and all across the galaxy civilizations compete in the Redline, a massive road race with no rules. Sweet JP, called as such because he doesn't use weapons, is a talented racer who is involved with the mafia and race-fixing, however due to the Redline's location being set as the backwards North Korea-like planet of Roboworld and several racers dropping out, he manages to qualify for the Redline.

The animation is fantastic and the story is pretty tight, and it has a fantastic soundtrack. And the english dub is pretty great too:

Seriously enjoyable film, pick it up if you get a chance.

I thought Redline was this "The Fast And The Furious with exotic cars instead of imports" knockoff starring Eddie Griffin.

Truth be told, I'd rather see the Eddie Griffin movie than this, though.

You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world....

I'm reading that with Roy's voice. Heck, I read everything you post in a laconic Irish accent.

Whoah. Shades of "Heavy Metal", or at least that's the vibe I got when I saw all the aliens. I might have to go for this one (it'd be the first non-Ghibli anime I've bought since The Guyver remake ended).

Still, Madhouse has been disappointing me recently. "Paprika" was a massive let-down and I didn't care for it in the slightest. Their Batman anime segments were really, "meh". And those Marvel anime shows... Good Lord.

And didn't "Redline" catastrophically bomb in Japanese theaters or something?

That preview looked really good, though...

It did pretty poorly in Japan, yeah. They didn't dig the gritty style and weirdo alien designs. It's not normal anime styles, the closest to that would be the green-haired girl in the video, everything else just gets weirder from there.

As to the plot, Spengler, it's pretty westernized I thought. The writing and stuff wouldn't feel out of place in a summer blockbuster. And even if you don't like the story it's still very pretty. It's like, one of those good dubs where they manage to dance around the awkward parts and make it flow well, almost enough to sound natural.

Yeah, just watching the trailer, it definately looked like a "written in America, animated in Japan" sort of dealie even if it was all-Japanese.

A shame it bombed in its homeland just because it went with unorthodox character designs and artstyle. The lack of visual and storytelling variety is one of the reasons I watch so little Japanese animation these days.

I think I'll pick it up. The reason I didn't dig "Paprika" was that it was one of those "trying too hard to be cerebral" anime flicks and I didn't care for the squeaky-voiced lead female. This looks to just be straight-up action and eyecandy, which sounds more appealing. As for their Marvel stuff, I disliked it because I can't get past the "move the camera as much as possible so we never have to animate the characters" money-saving direction that Japanese productions use so much (it made a second viewing of The Guyver almost agonizing for me, and I liked that show the first time through). But this is a big budget feature film, so it won't have that problem.

I'll check it out.

It's funny how Tiger and Bunny did so well though, considering all the tropes the Japanese audience normally likes.

Hey, just picked this up on blu ray.

Absolutely freakin' loved it.

This was a better Heavy Metal movie than either Heavy Metal movie. I can't believe this thing bombed in Japan; it was brilliant looking and just so much intense, carefree fun. The English dub was superb. Normally, I'd be annoyed by some of the gratuitous swearing they inserted, but some of it was really funny (particularly the announcer) and, well, I went into this pretending it was a Heavy Metal movie that that suits it just fine.

Madhouse's crazy use of perspective and shadow made this one of the most visually interesting animated films I've ever seen; it really deserves more recognition than as a straight-to-DVD foreign film. I be this thing was an absolute blast in theaters. It was also nice to see Madhouse deviate a bit from their Kawajiri-based house style for much of the character designs. It's not a style I particularly dislike, but variety is the spice of life, guys.

Lynchman and Johnnyboya were my favorite of the competing racers just because they were like if the Noid was a bounty-hunting supervillain and his sidekick was a karate-chopping Beavis.

Just a really, really cool movie.

Just picked up Redline and watched it multiple times and I really loved it.

It's amazing to hear that this film took 7 years to make with it being drawn entirely by hand, something that Anime does not do very much of any more sadly due to the current use of digital technology. Watching this movie really did in some way or another feel like a giant throwback to alot of Anime from the 80's & 90's that was viewed as another form of art being taken to the next level, with this in terms of animation and design this film is a masterpiece in more ways than one, yet it tanked at the box office due Anime now only appealing to the lowest common denominator if it features a tentacle, or some form of harem gibberish.

That's kind of sad when people don't know a true work of art when they see it, this really deserves the critical praise and love than what is currently going on right now with Anime.

I AM THE LAW!!!
