Also, ponies.

QUOTE
Twilight and her friends are honored to put on Canterlot's most important play of the season: the Hearth's Warming Eve's holiday pageant that illustrates how Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies put aside their differences and founded Equestria.

And a spoiler clip with lots of spoilers you shouldn't click unless you want to see spoilers.

So who else thought Discord was going to show up in the story, given the large amount of "discord" between the three leaders?

Also, there was no mention of Celestia or Luna and yet they appeared on the flag at the end. I think the story still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Now that my nitpicks are out of the way, I though that episode was great!

I loved Pinkie and AJ's characters in the play, though annoyingly my connection went bad during the map scene so I missed most of that.

Derpy peeping through the curtain and waving icon-ironhide.gif

I liked that Star Swirl the bearded got a mention. A nice little callback to Luna Eclipsed.

And we got nice festive song as well icon-hotrod.gif

Edit: Actually, regarding Star Swirl, he's from the Pre-Classical era right? So this story, I assume, will have taken place prior to Celestia and Luna's rule (and Discord)? I wonder if we'll ever get an episode dealing with the early days of the Princesses?

Welcome! You have entered [The Well] at 7:54 am
[scavgraphics] 7:54 am: Morning chatters
[The Well]: Dvandom has entered at 7:54 am
[scavgraphics] 7:54 am: isn't Strawberry shortcake offering pineapple cake like cannibalism?
[WorkbenchManiac] 7:55 am: I hope so
[scavgraphics] 7:55 am: and is this a repeat, or do they all look alike?
[nuclearsuplex] 7:55 am: The stream I'm watching never shows strawberry, do you guys watch the hub or something else?
[scavgraphics] 7:55 am: yup.
[Dvandom] 7:56 am: I suppose if anyone in the setting is philosophically inclined, they treat the difference between sapient fruit (berrykin) and edible types like we do the difference between humans and cows. Although that raises the question of what their vegan-equivalents can eat....
[Guardian Prime] 7:56 am: The Hub for me.
[scavgraphics] 7:56 am: I wake up so the hub gets comcast points so you foreign types can enjoy icon-fire.gif
[WorkbenchManiac] 7:56 am: I´m watching bronystate´s stream
[The Well]: stevethepocket has entered at 7:56 am
[scavgraphics] 7:57 am: Tune in Sunday for Pony Domination!
[Dvandom] 7:57 am: Non-pony-drawn train....
[scavgraphics] 7:57 am: ooh more train tracks
[Dvandom] 7:57 am: THE HAT

[scavgraphics] 7:58 am: interesting, Dave is a second before me
[pao] 7:58 am: that is quite a hat
[scavgraphics] 7:58 am: missed derpy icon-screamer.gif
[Dvandom] 7:59 am: Having ultracold candy canes that your tongue can stick to is just cruel urban design.
[scavgraphics] 7:59 am: Proof of Tyrant Celestia, Dave?
[nuclearsuplex] 7:59 am: it's just sticky from all the saliva
[scavgraphics] 7:59 am: will try to post his Derpy-Mas card later
[pao] 7:59 am: forget the urban design, think of the public health crisis
[Guardian Prime] 8:00 am: Derpy was on the train, same place as we see her in the opening.
[scavgraphics] 8:01 am: ah
[scavgraphics] 8:01 am: I was looking Derpy the red-nosed reinpony
[Dvandom] 8:01 am: The TrueMoo ads are missing the point of shoudler devils...they're supposed to encourage you to do BAD things.
[pao] 8:01 am: that one was easier
[nuclearsuplex] 8:01 am: haha
[Caboose] 8:01 am: Derpy!
[stevethepocket] 8:02 am: It's another Merriweather Williams episode
[scavgraphics] 8:02 am: that's the point, dave
[Dvandom] 8:02 am: Was looking at screen, missed Derpy. Sigh.
[Dvandom] 8:03 am: Gonna have to go to boxhab
[scavgraphics] 8:03 am: heh
[pao] 8:03 am: I like the stage flame
[scavgraphics] 8:03 am: Dark History!!!!
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:03 am: so, Spike is the announcer again?
[Dvandom] 8:04 am: Pegasi protection racket
[The Well]: Rezo has entered at 8:04 am
[pao] 8:04 am: flashback!
[scavgraphics] 8:04 am: Derpy is sage manager
[Dvandom] 8:05 am: Piuddinghead. Of course.
[scavgraphics] 8:06 am: Middleeastern Derpy
[stevethepocket] 8:06 am: Pegasuseseses
[Caboose] 8:07 am: *Puts on the crown upside down*
[nuclearsuplex] 8:07 am: oh god, spectral horses!
[Rezo] 8:07 am: Pegasi really ARE ruffians *nods*
[Dvandom] 8:07 am: Aeolian steeds....
[Dvandom] 8:08 am: Me, Grimlock, have uncredited cameo. Me easter egg!
[pao] 8:08 am: no comments from the Allspark crowd on the Rescue Bots?
[scavgraphics] 8:08 am: so a toon about transformers being enslaved by humans?
[scavgraphics] 8:09 am: snowflake science....it's gonna cause a new ice age, isn't it
[Dvandom] 8:09 am: No, that was Masterforce.
[Caboose] 8:09 am: Jesus christ Hax Mega, shut the hug up!
[scavgraphics] 8:09 am: ?
[nuclearsuplex] 8:09 am: it's one of the streams, he comments on all the dumb commercials
[Dvandom] 8:09 am: Mistell?
[Dvandom] 8:10 am: Ah
[Caboose] 8:10 am: Person who's hosting the livestream I'm watching keeps talking on the god #$%^&* mic.
[nuclearsuplex] 8:10 am: possibly, haha
[Dvandom] 8:10 am: Flutteryshy is their army. They're doomed
[Rezo] 8:10 am: >tribe of warriors
[Dvandom] 8:11 am: Dude, it's the Indian caste system. Unicorns are Brahmans, etc.
[scavgraphics] 8:12 am: Applesnark
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:12 am: I´d like to see Fluttershy conquer anything
[Dvandom] 8:12 am: The Little Ice Age.
[Dvandom] 8:13 am: Had the fainting couch been invented yet?
[Dvandom] 8:13 am: Kinky
[scavgraphics] 8:14 am: the pic that launced a 1000 fics
[pao] 8:14 am: "your chancellorness"
[pao] 8:14 am: "your chancellorship"
[nuclearsuplex] 8:14 am: Pinkie is amazing so far
[Dvandom] 8:14 am: There go the flat earth theories.
[scavgraphics] 8:14 am: Earth i
[scavgraphics] 8:14 am: yep
[pao] 8:14 am: unless everyone thought the planet was round, but it took later discovery to find out it was flat!
[Dvandom] 8:15 am: That plant scares me.
[Guardian Prime] 8:15 am: The Dazzling has been doubled!
[Dvandom] 8:15 am: EQUESTRIA IS EARTH
[pao] 8:16 am: pegasi sticking with that Greek thing (-opolis)
[Dvandom] 8:16 am: greco-roman
[Rezo] 8:17 am: >twisteed
[Rezo] 8:17 am: loved that so much~
[pao] 8:18 am: so the disharmony creates this blizzard; some influence of/on an ur-Discord?
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:18 am: still to early to say
[pao] 8:19 am: that's why I left it vague
[Rezo] 8:19 am: GOD #$%^&* THIS AD
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:20 am: topugh crowd
[Dvandom] 8:20 am: Moral of the story: leaders suck.
[nuclearsuplex] 8:20 am: They got presents to open... or something
[Dvandom] 8:21 am: ur-Tom!
[stevethepocket] 8:21 am: It could be full of chocolate, okay?
[pao] 8:22 am: cave blizzard!
[Caboose] 8:22 am: Obviously it's time for a coup.
[Rezo] 8:22 am: Rarity and her rocks...
[pao] 8:22 am: they abandoned the leaders and founded a new society, the end!
[Dvandom] 8:22 am: "And so, all the original ponies froze to death. And the next batch, and the next. It took until the fourth generation to get it right."
[pao] 8:23 am: Starswirl the Bearded is pre-Equestrian
[Caboose] 8:23 am: Windegos!
[nuclearsuplex] 8:23 am: Nice starswirl drop
[Caboose] 8:23 am: So that's what "Pre-Classical" meant!
[Dvandom] 8:23 am: WIN-DI-GO!
[scavgraphics] 8:23 am: and yet Luna recognized him
[stevethepocket] 8:23 am: I knew it would be up to the sidekicks
[Dvandom] 8:23 am: Because leaders suck.
[Dvandom] 8:24 am: And so, she's spent.
[Dvandom] 8:25 am: "And then the ponies on the flag came to life, somehow."
[pao] 8:25 am: even if Luna and Starswirl weren't around at precisely the same time, he certainly would have been historically known, and I suspect Luna would be a student of such things
[Dvandom] 8:27 am: Windigos are Celestia's secret enforcers, keeping the peace.
[Dvandom] 8:27 am: woo hoo!
[pao] 8:27 am: well, that answers a few questions, if not all...but it does confirm that Rainbow Dash's first Rainboom was not how Equestria was made :-)
[Caboose] 8:28 am: W-wait, no lesson on friendship this time?
[scavgraphics] 8:28 am: doesn't explain the chirstmas trees.
[Dvandom] 8:28 am: The entire thing was an extended letter.
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:28 am: evergreen trees ->fertility symbols
[Dvandom] 8:29 am: Some traditions came later, obviously. Trying to explain everything all at once is a hallmark of bad fanfic. icon-arcee.gif
[scavgraphics] 8:29 am: did you miss the "if you're not a friend, you get stuck in an ice cube" moral?
[nuclearsuplex] 8:29 am: Aren't candy canes a christian item as well?
[Rezo] 8:29 am: Things this doesn't tell us.
[Rezo] 8:29 am: How was celestia made icon-bee.gif
[pao] 8:29 am: evergreens also handily green in winter
[Dvandom] 8:31 am: Aww, Derpy got the stage manager mad.
[pao] 8:31 am: I've got two partial Celestia/Luna theories at the moment: one, they were there the whole time, but hadn't revealed themselves to everypony else, or two, they were an emergent property of harmony and appeared shortly post-Equestrian
[Caboose] 8:32 am: I think I might actually go with Kein a little, that is, this not being a literal interpretation of events.
[Guardian Prime] 8:32 am: Derpy is seen multiple times in this episode.
[Nayuki] 8:33 am: it is a pageant afterall
[Rezo] 8:33 am: I love the fire-on-a-.stick instead of real fire in the fireplace ^^
[nuclearsuplex] 8:33 am: Why would you think it's not a literal interpretation?
[Dvandom] 8:34 am: The Pegasi are also greco-roman, but the Earth Ponies are medieval.
[Caboose] 8:35 am: The complete absense of the local goddesses?
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:35 am: keep in mind that the whole "goddess"-thing is fanon
[Nayuki] 8:35 am: it has never been stated that Celestia/Luna are godesses
[scavgraphics] 8:35 am: Derpy is playing an Earth Pony
[Caboose] 8:36 am: Princesses.
[pao] 8:36 am: I'm sure it's unlikely to be literal, but it doesn't have to be to be useful; it establishes there was a pre-Equestrian social order in which the three "tribes" lived separately, which provides the historical kernel the story relies on
[scavgraphics] 8:36 am: "raise sun and moon"
[Dvandom] 8:36 am: We just figured it took godpower to make the Sun and Moon rise. But it's now established that any Unicorn magic will do.
[Nayuki] 8:36 am: and it was specifically stated that the founding of Equesrtria takes place at a time before Celestia
[scavgraphics] 8:36 am: tht's pretty much godess stuff
[pao] 8:37 am: picking at the details (though I like it being straight-up pre-princesses) it was before the *rule* of Celestia, not necessarily her existence
[Rezo] 8:37 am: Luna and Celestia are the products of a deliberate breeding program to avoid disasters liek the one that led to the foudnign of equestria~
[pao] 8:37 am: heh
[Dvandom] 8:37 am: Eunicorns.
[pao] 8:38 am: I'm not sure any Unicorn magic will do, for all we know it took a whole bunch of Unicorns a great deal of effort to keep the celestial bodies in motion
[Dvandom] 8:38 am: Pao: But not god-level.
[Caboose] 8:38 am: @Nayuki: It was? I must have missed that.
[Dvandom] 8:39 am: Opening narration by Spike, yes?
[pao] 8:39 am: I thought we were pretty happy Celestia wasn't entirely godlike when she's been overwhelemed by both NMM and Discord
[Nayuki] 8:39 am: yes, opening narration
[scavgraphics] 8:39 am: pao...those are two other gods
[Caboose] 8:39 am: Well, 'gods'.
[Dvandom] 8:40 am: Bulkhead fails at scat.
[scavgraphics] 8:40 am: well he is a robot...they just have exhaust
[nuclearsuplex] 8:40 am: I think Fluttershy's dress in this ep is adorable.
[nuclearsuplex] 8:40 am: The hat is hilarious.
[Caboose] 8:41 am: It seemed a safe assumption, since they were responsible for the sun and the moon, and lived for more than a thousand years?
[Nayuki] 8:41 am: but it's just that, an assumption
[pao] 8:41 am: it wasn't a bad assumption, but it may not be needed anymore
[Caboose] 8:42 am: Well, yeah, I know that -now-.
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:42 am: >implying that it was ever needed
[Dvandom] 8:42 am: The reason why Equestria is ruled by aristrocracy is that Chancellor Puddinhead soured them all on democracy.
[Nayuki] 8:42 am: unless the writers actually state they are or aren't godesses....
[pao] 8:42 am: oh, stop picking on my sloppy word choice in chat :-)
[Dvandom] 8:43 am: (Everyone on City of Heroes with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash based characters will now rush to get them to Level 35 and the Imperious Task Force, so they can get Romanesque helmets and kilts.)
[scavgraphics] 8:43 am: Is there a difference betweeen an all powerful princess and an all powerful god-queen?
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:44 am: where do you ge the all-poweful part from?
[Nayuki] 8:44 am: one implies immortality?
[Rezo] 8:45 am: Plenty of mortal gods in history.
[scavgraphics] 8:45 am: so does living over a 1000 years icon-hotrod.gif
[Dvandom] 8:45 am: Methuselah
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:45 am: longevity =/= immortality
[Dvandom] 8:45 am: Heh, Applejack seems concerned about the plant too.
[scavgraphics] 8:46 am: Norse gods are technically mortal
[nuclearsuplex] 8:46 am: the zoom out from the 3 paned zoom is was pretty cool
[nuclearsuplex] 8:46 am: and my typing sucks
[Rezo] 8:47 am: Anyway, I loved this episode
[Rezo] 8:47 am: Quite different from usual, and the variety is appreciated~
[nuclearsuplex] 8:47 am: yes, it's great.
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:48 am: I like the idea of oppresive, militaristic pegasi and oppressed earth ponies
[Rezo] 8:48 am: Loads of little details, too. Way too many to cover individually, but it fit perfectly~
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:48 am: "Pegasi eunt domus"
[scavgraphics] 8:48 am: i confess, i didn't dig the HWE Carol
[Nayuki] 8:48 am: I never liked carols in general
[Dvandom] 8:49 am: If "The Last Roundup" is also worldbuilding-y, that would make the theme of the first Shout Factory DVD make some sense.
[pao] 8:49 am: yeah, that was fun
[nuclearsuplex] 8:49 am: I'm guessing there's a train ride involved
[nuclearsuplex] 8:49 am: and that's why they chose that ep, hah
[Dvandom] 8:51 am: Once again, Fluttershy is used as a tool.
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:51 am: again?
[scavgraphics] 8:51 am: it just does't have the singability of most of the other songs....somewhat ironicly
[Dvandom] 8:51 am: Pinkie is rock-farming....
[Dvandom] 8:52 am: Rock-farming giving way to partying...so it WAS how Equestria was made!
[nuclearsuplex] 8:53 am: i'm guessing theres another winter episode, since we didn't see any of the Hub card game's new pony models
[nuclearsuplex] 8:54 am: well, besides the props, like the snowpony
[Dvandom] 8:54 am: Ruderph didn't show up.
[Dvandom] 8:55 am: "And, since molten hearts don't pump blood so well, they all died."
[pao] 8:55 am: lol @"Ruderph"
[Dvandom] 8:56 am: Lyra and Bon-Bon side by side. And many Colgates.
[Guardian Prime] 8:56 am: I'm not sure, but I thought I might have seen Octavia in the background there for a split moment.
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:57 am: lol at Pinkie forcing her affections on Rarity
[scavgraphics] 8:57 am: Why doesn't Teilight use her magicc for a change? Twilight uses her magic the way Homer uses his pistol.
[pao] 8:57 am: alright, lots to overanalyze here (latest thought, is the eye glow at the ice break a historical detail, and if so, what does it mean for Twilight Sparkle?) but have to get those thoughts together
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:58 am: it´s a pageant, a play!
[WorkbenchManiac] 8:58 am: take the nativity plays: those ar enot historical lectures either
[nuclearsuplex] 8:58 am: well, the characters use their own traits throughout, so I'm not sure specific acting or physical traits are notable.
[Dvandom] 8:58 am: Meanwhile, the MLP Facebook has used the name Derpy.
[Caboose] 8:58 am: Yeah, theorycrafting is not allowed here!
[Rezo] 8:59 am: She'll always be Ditzy to me :<
[nuclearsuplex] 8:59 am: but I would not dismiss any of the story simply because it's a pageant. There's nothing here that says it's not truthful.
[pao] 8:59 am: I'm not sure either, but I'd like to think through the consequences (remember, it's a game)
[scavgraphics] 8:59 am: the file name of Ruderph is DH_Yes it's canon
[nuclearsuplex] 8:59 am: DH_Definitely_Cannon
[nuclearsuplex] 9:00 am: canon*
[pao] 9:00 am: I'm okay with being canonically wrong here
[scavgraphics] 9:00 am: thanks nuke
[pao] 9:00 am: alright, good times, need coffee
[pao] 9:00 am: later
[nuclearsuplex] 9:00 am: see ya
[WorkbenchManiac] 9:00 am: bye
[WorkbenchManiac] 9:01 am: I should get dinner started, too... but I´ll likely procrastinate a bit longer
[Dvandom] 9:01 am: Correction, it was the Hub FB page.
[Dvandom] 9:01 am: https://www.facebook...network?sk=wall
[The Well]: pao has left at 9:02 am
[scavgraphics] 9:07 am: Ok, good chat folks...gonna post the transcript
[Caboose] 9:07 am: Welp, I'm gonna nap until the episode pops up on youtube.
[scavgraphics] 9:08 am: I got an hour and change to get ready for Sherlock Holmes

Presumably one of the condensations was the use of the modern Equestrian banner rather than the original. Unless Celestia and Luna were symbolic from the start, but became real once everyone believed in them....

It was a really good episode. I don't think it did much damage (if any) to anybody's Equestria origin fanfics. Though, I personally do prefer to go with canon over fanon any day.

Lots of Derpy appearances this time around. Once on the train on the way to Canterlot....

Then we have her peeping through the stage curtains (Kein already posted that one), then later it looks like she's dressed up like this....

....though I'm not sure if that's actually her nor not.

Then later after the pageant is finished, she's seen again chatting away with another pony....

I also got a big kick out of Pinkie Pie. She really put the fun in funny today. Speaking of.....

.....talking about "Sooted for Success!"
Or, Or, how about..."This look soots her."

Nope, that's not her....but this is....not:

Nope...I had thought Derpy was playing an Earth Pony, but nope.

At least now we can vaguely split Equestrian ages up:

I dunno, may be something like that?

Much better post here, you state your theories in a well thought out manner. While they are just theories, I can respect them. Your earlier post had rubbed me the wrong way because of how it was worded.. you came off sounding like you were posting your theories as fact.

It is up to fanfic writers anyway.

Nothing is up to the fanfic writers. While I have no problems with people writing fanfics, they have no place in discussion on actual historical canon of the series.

Well until the show flat out says "this is what happened and when." then yeah, its up to the fans to piece it all together. Even this wasn't that. This was a very simple play, that covered one event. I really doubt that some of the names are real, as most seem to just sum up their one character trait. Puddinghead and Smart Cookie being the two that feel, in universe, are made up to just describe the dense Earth Pony leader and intelligent secretary. Pansy would be second or third, but that's also a flower. And Clover the Clever seems like a 'wizard name', much like Starswirl the Bearded, who was her mentor anyway.

All things considered I find it funny how some people find it so hard to keep fanon and canon separate. I wonder what they would think of people with multiple headcanon's? (The series could easily be focused on pony shaped ORKS set in the alpha quadrant for instance XD)

As to Nayuki, great episode work, though I don't know if you helped with it or not(I tend to mix everyone up)

A question however that I forgot to ask a while back. In the Rainbow Dash Pet episode, when they were at the canyon there were these really nice looking mountains in the background with pointed tips, and combined with a very wild and natural in appearance forest everywhere it created a very vivid sense of scale and distance. This is of course compared to the usual set pieces like Ponyville and Canterlot with the nice orderly trees and rounded hills everywhere which have a more closed in feel.

Are you able to tell us if we will be seeing more of those vast landscape sets in future episodes? Or if there are more plans to have them? One image I think would be amazing is a proper view of the landscape from a high flying pegasus or even cloudsdale miles up.

I guess I ask because the show has everything available to legitimately have an excuse for new and unique as well as vast in scale landscapes, we just seem to have yet to have any excuse to see any...

Time for some Wild Speculation:

We saw a train NOT pulled by ponies this episode, cementing the one seen in the opening credits as being part of the setting and not just symbolic or "something the modelers made without being asked" like the ham. So powered trains definitely exist.

On the other hand, the train out to Appleoosa had to be pulled.

Speculation: Equestrian trains use a magical version of the third rail for a power source. Trains within Equestria proper are able to draw motive power from the rails, and don't need to be pulled. But Appleoosa is out past the built-up infrastructure of older parts of Equestria, so their rails are either underpowered or outright unpowered and the trains need to be pulled by draft ponies. Underpowered rails seem more likely, unless those puller ponies have been sipping some of Asterix's strength potion. Enough mojo to render the train movable by a handful of strong ponies, but not enough to propel it.

Well, even if you can't say or do anything at least I know you are aware of it, Which is so far beyond what most other studios would be icon-hotrod.gif

So thanks and good work!

As to the train thing mentioned above. Simple answer. Appleloosa was in the middle of a desert, and they had been pulling it super fast all day and night. In real life I think towns would pop up every certain number of miles(Someone mentioned on another forum 120 in Canada) because steam engines could only go so far before needing refueling. Long desert travel would not likely have a lot of water nearby so they swap to pony power.

Heck, I think even in real life ponies are one of the most fuel efficient motive systems out there XD. Fortunately our little terraformers are more awesome.

I normally don't care much for these types of episodes in shows, but this one was quite nice.

Rarity putting her crown on upside down at one point was great. I also think it was really awesome that they brought the CMC with them to watch the play.

Or the train experienced an engineering failure and had to be pulled to Appleloosa for repairs?

Anyway.

Loved it quite a bit. I like how the episode was something different from the usual ones - breaks the mold! And all the little details (The fake-fire-on-a-stick when the play starts was hilarious, for me at least. Fluttershy's constant mishaps with snow as RBD raged were entertaining as well. As just two examples. And the slow, then accelerating coming of the storm as the tribes argue... Again. Yeah. Really, really liked it).

The friendship report would've been something akin to 'Don't always listen to authority. Power to the people~'

And yes. The Starswirl The Bearded shoutout was great, too. Well, honestly... Apart from HEART SHAPED TRAIN OF HEART, everything was great. It wasn't so outstanding as to be the Best Evar, but nonetheless great.

And I can easily forgive the train. It's a toy, and the show's there to sell toys, after all. A small price to pay~

(Headcanon: Celestia & Luna are the result of an organised breeding program to create tribe-unifying leadership figures that'll prevent shenanigans like this)

What a wonderful episode! I'm wondering if Hurricane, Platinum, Puddinghead (PUDDINGHEAD!) were real ponies as opposed to made up names for the play. It would be awesome if they were real and had pictures, though I wonder if maybe some were male. I was kinda expecting Smart Cookie / Applejack to be the Earth Pony leader though as who in their right mind would put Puddinghead (PUDDINGHEAD!) in charge, LMAO!

Wind-digos, LMAO! I want more of those type of beasties roaming around.

All the ponies were in top form. Or over the top form, haha icon-waspy.gif Pansy Fluttershy was sweet though the disliking thing was a little weird.

Wish there was more of the balance of power on the Earth Pony side. I still can't make a good rock-paper-scissors bit on the Pegasus beats Earth beats Unicorn beats Pegasus thing.

Er, who made the sun and moon rise and fall before the unicorns came about? I bet they're lying, cheating scum who just pretended to control the heavens to gain power of the others, kidding icon-waspy.gif

I sorta kinda thought that the alicorns (?) Celestia and Luna would appear in the end or they would be created or SOMETHING to resolve/beat the Windigos.

I love how the trees had the jewels on them to make Christmas trees. Doesn't explain it though. The songs Clover, Cookie and Pansy sang that became the Christmas songs were a cool origin icon-hotrod.gif

Wonderful, wonderful episode icon-fire.gif

I kinda want to know about the obvious revisionist history that put Luna and Celestia on the Equestrian flag LOL

Me thinks we'll be getting another history lesson at some point.
