Last they talked about it (a week and a half - two weeks ago) they were still working with Hasbro to finalize things.

Especially if it's near New England!

Walky's ass would mean Columbus.

Which would be awesome!

But seriously...let's get a NON-EXTREME location this year. No California, No Texas, No Rhode Island, No North Carolina.

Chicago, Indiana, Kentucky, Cincinnati, any of those would be good.

Personally, I think we're long overdue for a return to Pasadena. I mean, it's been almost three months since the last California BotCon!

Most people want it in their own backyard, so since you can't please everyone, let's just ignore that and have it somewhere where you can expect to see something outside the convention other than a Denny's and a Wal-Mart. It's not like they have trouble with attendance when they don't please the "budget" attendees.

Don't get me wrong, I've been to quite a few conventions now and have had lots of fun in the "non-extreme" locations as Blud put it, but I think half the fun is going somewhere interesting. If having to fly is fairly likely either way, might as well go someplace noteworthy.

Same here. I wanna swim in a hotel pool where I can remain ignorant about how gross all the other people using it are.

Wherever it is, hopefully it will be near a city with major hub airport. It would make flights cheaper for those in the US and those from outside the US wouldn't have to spend additional airport/travel time just to take a connecting flight (which really hugging sucks after a 12-14 hour flight across the Pacific).

I say it should be in the Midwest, that way, nobody has to travel across the country to get to it.

Somewhere near North Dakota....how about Fargo!!!

Obviously, this is one of those places where "our definitions differ."

I read that as everyone has to travel across the country to get to it.

Yeah, I know you mean "across" as in "coast-to-coast." I read "across" as in "a great distance."

I keep saying it, but I really think Indianapolis would be a good location, and not just because it's a 20-minute drive for me. It's at the intersection of four major interstates (65, 69, 70, and 74) and a major highway (US 40), has a large international airport, decent public transportation, and is already a major convention city. They host GenCon every year (and the Super Bowl next year), so BotCon should be no problem. Plenty of hotel space both downtown and in the 'burbs, and plenty of stuff to do all around the city.

A lot of so-called "international" airports aren't really all that international. Indianapolis's airport only appears to have direct flights to/from Toronto and seasonal flights to Cancun. I think the only international hubs in the midwest are Chicago and Detroit.

I am incredibly amused to see North Carolina described as extreme.

Let's shore up our definitions here.

Traveling from the midwest to the west coast is traveling across the country.
Traveling from the west coast to the midwest is NOT traveling across the country.
