There was one solitary one in Dreamwave, but the company died before he could do anything except be Wheelie's pet.

Who cares about Gnaw as an individual, not just one of many generic Sharkticons? The Sharkticons never showed individuality in the cartoon or comics so I don't care for it now.

Dude got off pretty lightly, there are far worse things to be turned into than a cat if you think about it.

@  Pennpenn : (26 October 2016 - 06:22 PM)

Wasn't the cat a person who'd been transformed into a cat as a punishment? If so, was Salem his actual name as a human? Because calling a cat that is one thing, naming a child that is another...

@  wonko the sane? : (26 October 2016 - 04:24 PM)

Hey, careful with that joke there, it's an antique.

@  Bass X0 : (26 October 2016 - 03:42 PM)

The witches from the show "Sabrina" have a cat named Salem. That's like a Jewish family having a cat named Auschwitz.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (25 October 2016 - 04:42 PM)

I recall a Blurr in that '86 movie boxset. Drift retool Blurr that is. Is that set still happening?

@  Bass X0 : (25 October 2016 - 02:05 PM)

I suppose Chromedome would work again repainted red as Pointblank. I'd have preferred that to their Breakaway.

@  Blues : (25 October 2016 - 01:34 PM)

I'm still expecting a blurr with just more paint under the platinum line, but it seems like those random releases slowed down.

@  Bass X0 : (25 October 2016 - 01:31 PM)

There is surprisingly a lack of Deluxe cars in Titans Return. Knowing Hasbro we would get a red repaint of Blurr as Pointblank.

@  Blues : (25 October 2016 - 01:30 PM)

Yeah but I don't own a chromedome, and the only ones around me are nearly twenty dollars

@  Bass X0 : (25 October 2016 - 01:24 PM)

Chromedome is the best mold for Nightbeat and Siren. Blurr and Hot Rod just wouldn't work for either of them.

@  Blues : (25 October 2016 - 01:06 PM)

hmmmm I kinda want to paint my hasbro blurr into a body for takara nightbeat

Start at 1

@  Benbot : (24 October 2016 - 07:10 PM)

So should you start at issue one, or are there later jumping in points?

@  Liege : (24 October 2016 - 06:33 PM)

Totally agree: 1-50 is like Ultimate Turtles in the sense it takes all that has come before and mixes it into a satisfying revigoration that still feels fresh. I read a few issues after 50 and felt lost because I missed some of the miniseries.

@  Anguirus : (24 October 2016 - 06:02 PM)

current bit ymmv but 1-50 is a triumphant reinvention of the turtles. I can only compare it to that point in 2012 with RiD/MtMtE when we all realized "wait, TF comics can be THIS?"

@  Liege : (24 October 2016 - 05:57 PM)

It was great up til issue 50. The current direction is an interesting one (splinter and the turtles lead the foot) but the execution is lacking imho.

@  Bass X0 : (24 October 2016 - 03:13 PM)

Never read it. What was so bad about it?

When it became known that Toxitron was going to be a BC exlusive, I was stoked for an RtS Laser Prime repaint. And then disappointed to see it was an Animated version instead (though his incorporation into that universe was done well). Fun Pub has been known to make different-universe incarnations of the same character over time ? pre-BW Cheetor and Animated Cheetor, Classics Thundercracker and SG Thundercracker, G2 Breakdown and Animated Breakdown, etc. ? so I still have some fingers crossed that we'll see a Primax Toxitron eventually. But I wonder which mold would be best.

Originally I had no question about this; it was RtS Laser Prime all the way. And I would still love to see that. But in a thread on the TFCC forums, someone suggested DoTM Megatron, which I have to admit would be pretty fantastic too. It has the benefit of a tanker trailer, and Toxie is one of the very few Primax characters that the movie aesthetic would fit. There are multiple size options for Fun Pub to utilize, depending on how much they would want to invest in the project: Cyberverse Commander, Cyberverse Action Set, and Voyager. Of those, I would prefer the Voyager because Toxie should be as big and hulking as possible, and the shroud adds to the aura of hideousness. But Cyberverse is awesome, and the Action Set in particular would hearken to the original Laser Prime mold. In that respect, it's even more Toxitronny than the RtS mold.

What do you think? Which mold would you prefer, or do you even want another Toxie, having already gotten an Animated version?

Any movie Megatron toy is definitely offlimits to FP. You'd have to depend on Hasbro.

Yeah Fun Pub can't use any Movie figures that appear in the films or are a licensed vehicle, so Megatron is out of the question.

I'd prefer him to be made from RtS Optimus like some customs shown on these boards.

Ah, well then. I have no hope of Hasbro doing this (as obscure as they've gotten lately, I think Toxie is still beyond their pale), so RtS Laser Prime it is. Which gets back to the other question: Do you even want to see another Toxitron at all? I definitely do, but I don't know how many folks might be fully satisfied with the Animated toy.

I've said it before... The majority of the appeal for Toxitron was in the spill deco on his trailer. The cab had nothing going for it as far as toxicity goes. It was just a green, purple and gray truck. I loved the purple and gray in robot mode, but...not "toxic".

So a RTS Prime, I feel, would be like half the toy. And the less interesting half of the toy at that.

Voyager Megatron would definitely be cool, but as has been said, Fun Pub couldn't do it.

(I do not want a RiD Scourge from RTS Prime either. As well-crafted as I've seen some customs, inevitably, the new transformation on RTS Prime ruins the Scourge homage.)

When done, there WILL be slime and an obnoxious name on that tanker.

I recall you saying that you didn't think Animated Toxie's drippy-gloop deco would match the RtS mold's realism, and I agree. But I do think a grungy "spray" paint-app, like he'd driven through toxic mud, would work quite well. The main benefit I see in the trailer is the idea that he's carrying the toxic waste – and in the Megatron molds, the tank becomes a cannon, which is perfect. But that's more of a luxury to me; the character-reference alone would be enough to make me buy it, trailer or no.

Edit: Oh, and yeah Nick, that's a great custom. Exactly the sort of thing I was picturing. It'll be awesome to see it with the "slime and an obnoxious name".

i was against the megatron mold until i saw nickstart's work. i'd be all for it if hasbro put that out.

but i'd really prefer toxitron to be done with the original laser prime mold just for the trailer. i'd rather have the rts mold done up as scourge

Oh jive, son!

I made the grabby hands because I want it. I said I'd take any other head on that toy painted up as anyone else, but now I'm not sure if I can settle for anything short of that little pile of excellence you've created there. Well done.

I'm largely on the side of RtS G2 Prime, but I do wonder if it might be possible to go in a different direction entirely, like using RtS Hailstorm/Mindset with a new head and recasting the "toxic" as him being a biowarfare psycho (or technowarfare, as it were).
Fall of Cybertron will blow your mind. That is all.

I'm not sure I'd want another Toxitron: the Animated toy did the concept rather well, and without the trailer, it leaves you wanting. I'd love that Movie Megatron concept, but it's impossible.

If FunPub's going to make RtS G2 Prime into anything, I'd rather he was re-decoed as Laser Ultra Magnus, if anything. But that's me.
Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.

I wanna see it made from Energon Prime. With all his little drones all toxic'd up.

Also, mouthed version, so they can paint some goop dripping from it.

I'm ambivalent about it, but I wouldn't object to a non-Animated version of Toxitron in the slightest, using RTS G2 Prime or not (though that seems the logical choice). A small part of me wishes they'd use the Armada Bendy Prime mold, however.

Finally got around to wrapping up my Toxitron. I've got a thread full of pictures over in Iacon.

Also, I realized I still need to throw his name on him, but imagine it accross his bumper. Unfortunately the molded detail on the tanker makes anything short of an actual lithograph impossible, but Toxitron will not be denied.
