@  unluckiness : (27 September 2016 - 09:16 AM)

I cut out the middleman and assume that they're all jerks and/or shills.

@  Rycochet : (27 September 2016 - 07:15 AM)

Social media is the worst thing to happen to fandom, you can now see people whose work you like being jerks or shills on a daily basis, which is worse than a bad interview or two.

@  Robowang : (27 September 2016 - 07:12 AM)

Dirty Jerk Warts?

@  Broadside : (27 September 2016 - 07:05 AM)

Also, I guess he hates IDW Soundwave for not being an emotionless brick like the cartoon version? Man. Any enjoyment of Animated in future is going to be tainted for me by the fact that DJW is the worst kind of boring Geewunner.

@  Broadside : (27 September 2016 - 07:04 AM)

He also hates Action Man for no apparent reason other than "I don't know who this is and I don't care to find out". Which isn't fair, because Ian is the best character in IDW.

@  Jalaguy : (27 September 2016 - 06:47 AM)

DJW was mouthing off about the art for Revolution the other day too, doesn't entirely surprise.

@  Verity Carlo : (27 September 2016 - 05:11 AM)

Do you have a link, zephyr?

@  Touch My Thighs : (26 September 2016 - 09:30 PM)

Sakamoto or Sipher's art?

@  ShadowMan024 : (26 September 2016 - 08:17 PM)

Oof.

@  zephyrX9 : (26 September 2016 - 08:05 PM)

Sipher made a sarcastic remark about Sakamoto's skeeviness. Derrick called him an a**hole, and insulted his art, which was a low, unnecessary blow.

@  Touch My Thighs : (26 September 2016 - 07:43 PM)

What did Derrick do?

@  Pennpenn : (26 September 2016 - 07:42 PM)

That makes sense, thank you.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (26 September 2016 - 07:30 PM)

Yeah, it was really sad that they didn't survive in any of the endings. Eaten by Unicron every time.

I wish I could have seen Kick Axe live.

@  LBD "Nyt... : (26 September 2016 - 10:14 AM)

@TheMightyMollusk WWE Raw is on tonight. By the third hour, it'll probably feel the same, minus the actual physical trauma.

@  TheMightyMol... : (26 September 2016 - 06:53 AM)

I think I'm just too used to metal to not understand the lyrics.

@  ▲ndrusi : (26 September 2016 - 06:02 AM)

it's a vile interruption, chess the scripture way

@  Pennpenn : (26 September 2016 - 03:49 AM)

I've had versions where the issue doesn't come up (or at least doesn't come up in the part I notice the most), but the version that got remastered for Bluray and DVD releases have it.

@  Nevermore : (26 September 2016 - 02:05 AM)

I initially misheard "flying tools of torment" as "we're flyin' into some torment".

@  NotVeryKnightly : (26 September 2016 - 01:08 AM)

If it's a problem with all released versions, maybe the original audio source was itself damaged?

@  Pennpenn : (25 September 2016 - 09:30 PM)

I wish they'd relase a remastered version that fixed the audio and included at least had an option to have the text crawl rather than the credits at the start.

@  Telly : (25 September 2016 - 09:27 PM)

tryin to buy the movie from amazon for $20-ish. the price of it has been fluctuating like crazy. not a day has gone by that it hasnt dropped to one price and then gone back up a few hours later. never seen a price fluctuate so much

@  Pennpenn : (25 September 2016 - 07:57 PM)

Then again, a lot of versions of the movie had pretty bad sound quality, even the most recent blu-rays mess it up in places, so it's not as much our fault if we misheard stuff.

@  Arazyr : (25 September 2016 - 07:28 PM)

When I first heard it, half of it may as well have been in a foreign language, for all I could make out. (Of course, I can say that about most music...)

@  Pennpenn : (25 September 2016 - 07:14 PM)

I can't remember entirely, and I can't "hear" anything but the actual lyrics now, but I remember "I am born to hurt you, I'll break the boundless sky" as how my brain parsed the first words.

@  Nevermore : (25 September 2016 - 07:01 PM)

So what did you hear?

@  Pennpenn : (25 September 2016 - 06:39 PM)

I almost completely misinterpreted the lyrics for that song for ages, and when I did find out what they were I thought my idea of the lyrics was better.

@  Nevermore : (25 September 2016 - 06:29 PM)

So apparently the 2016 remake of "Instruments of Destruction" is out. I'm still waiting for an Amazon download to become available, but the clips I heard thus far sound cool. They're using the uncensored lyrics!

@  Bass X0 : (25 September 2016 - 03:02 PM)

This is something that we've brainstormed on the Allspark a few times. So say there's a toy of Hot Shot. Hot Shot gets redecoed as Springer.
Evac also gets redecoed as Springer. It's happened!

But does that mean that through the transitive property, Hasbro could do a Hot Shot from an Evac or vice versa, and it would be totally valid?
What if we take that to extremes?

What happens is that we have this chart. Because taking things to extremes is what fans do best!

And it's an idea that me and my friends have nurtured from time to time. It's a geeky idea. How else could we know that a redeco of Shockwave
into Small Foot is a valid idea? But then Shellspark had to go and start making a chart. And that's when jive got real. He had some different
rules from mine, so I made my own chart, with my own rules. He should post his chart in this thread as well. One thing I like about his rules is
that, since he includes some cross-univeral doppelgangers as the same guy, he can travel from G1 Soundwave to Cybertron Soundwave and
from him to alllllll of the jets. It's amaaazing. You can also get to Animated with those rules.

But this is my chart. #wiigii! and LiquidVelcro! helped me fill a few holes in it, and, of course, Tfwiki is always
a helpful resource.

And here is Sam's chart, moved here from page 3:

Awesome stuff and I often think of these relations from time to time when thinking of possible redecos/retools.

I've removed the cross-continuity jumps on mine for a few reasons. First, I was having a hard time coming up with a good way to clearly and consistently show the jump that was being made. Second, it was taking a little too much room and I wanted to keep the chart to a more easily navigatable size (I did, however, keep an expanded version for my own amusement). And, finally, the cross-continuity jumps were often unneccesary, either connecting two characters who had other paths between them or only bringing in a few more characters. I wasn't sure it was worth it just to, say, bring Arcee, Tarantulus, Black Arachnia and Crystal Widow into the collective. The Soundwave example is really the only link that would have been of any note.

Unfortunately, photobucket downsizes my chart upon uploading so it's nigh unreadable.

This loop may be already be in there and I'm missing it, but I figured out how to get from Optimus Prime to a host of other characters, through Sports Label:

Optimus Prime<-> Megatron (via Sports Label) <-> Starscream + Jetfire (via Legends) <-> Silverbolt (Legends) <-> Skyjack (ultra) <-> Air Raid (cyberjet) <-> Cyb Soundwave (legends) -> Uni Blaster/Binaltech -> Skids

Supposedly, all Sideways are the same guy, so...

Also, I'd lose my chance to see Cybertron Sideways as Big Bird Circuit if we took that out.

Is there a bit I missed to explain the color coding?

How do you get from Megatron to Starscream?

There was no official Starscream toy released under Sports Label. (And Sports Label is how we got from Optimus Prime to Starscream in the first place.)

Well, if I'm reading it right:

Red = G1
Teal = G2
Green = Beast Era
Yellow = RiD
Blue = Unicron Trilogy
Purple-pink = Universe
Pink = Movie
Lavender = Shattered Glass

(I am in awe.)

Yeah, counting original Sideways as ROTF Sideways doesn't quite seem to fit in with that rule.

Depending how you treat G2 Dreadwing. And depending on your classification of "released"...

G1 Megatron --> G2 Megatron--> G2 Dreadwing --> G1 Darkwing --> Universe Ultra Silverbolt --> Universe Legends Silverbolt --> Universe Legends Starscream -- > G1 Starscream

That one's fuzzy. It's possible Furman didn't realize that the toy's name belonged to the Darkwing/Dreadwind combiner rather than to Darkwing, and so in his mind he was just upgrading one guy to his new body. An accidental repurposing. That one's up to personal interpretation, I'd say.

Do you care about corrections and additions? (E.g. some arrows are pointing the wrong way and Cybertron Scourge was also redecoed into RID Bruticus.)
