@  Bass X0 : (24 July 2016 - 04:20 AM)

Which is the height of quality for Family Guy jokes...

@  Whirl Maximus : (24 July 2016 - 04:00 AM)

David Tennent has done a cutaway for Family Guy. Don't get to excited it was a fart joke.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 03:17 PM)

"Micronauts: Starring psychic Peter Quill and E123-Omega".

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 03:16 PM)

Ooh, sounds neat.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 01:16 PM)

Yeah, the first was definitely the weakest of the three. Really looking forward to the next issue; judging by the preview for it, it's delving into Karza and Shazraella's past and Microspace's exact political situation.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 01:11 PM)

I was ambivalent about the first issue, but the quality stepped up in the second and again in the third.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 10:37 AM)

And yes, Micronauts is great! I enjoyed the first three issues quite a lot.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 10:36 AM)

Cave Carson looks really cool as well, so I can't be too saddened about that.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 06:29 AM)

I ended up checking it out, and it's pretty damn neat.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 06:28 AM)

So. Micronauts, huh?

@  Maruten : (23 July 2016 - 03:49 AM)

Oh, it's only backups in "Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye". Still. Onboard.

@  Maruten : (23 July 2016 - 03:44 AM)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

@  Maruten : (23 July 2016 - 03:43 AM)

I didn't think I was interested but OH DEAR GOD WONDER TWINS yesssssssss

@  Sockie : (22 July 2016 - 08:26 PM)

Oh man, Tom Scioli's next project is a DC superhero one. Superb!

@  siccoyote : (22 July 2016 - 06:40 PM)

Feeling left out?

@  Arthur Burlo : (22 July 2016 - 06:11 PM)

"about time" ???????????????????? :(

@  Nevermore : (22 July 2016 - 05:08 PM)

There was a shooting near a shopping mall in Munich, currently eight or nine people are dead. Three suspects, still at large.

@  Nevermore : (22 July 2016 - 05:07 PM)

About time...

@  Nevermore : (22 July 2016 - 05:07 PM)

So now it's Germany's turn to be the target of what appears to be aterrorist attack.

@  Nutjob R/T : (22 July 2016 - 02:44 PM)

Which is kinda... I preordered the new VF-2ss, and then before it shipped there was the exclusive version with the SAP pack that was only open for two days of orders. And then I got the naked VF2ss and it's... Not... Good.

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 July 2016 - 12:18 AM)

Yeah, Japanese online sellers seem to take it very seriously, in my experience. When you commit to something, it's expected that you follow through on it, and cancelled transactions seem to be frowned upon. However, I've never dealt with more courteous or considerate sellers than those in Japan; some have even enclosed a small gift item in the package on occasion.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 03:44 PM)

Nothing really happened, I just got an email saying I shouldn't do that.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 03:43 PM)

But I ended up buying it later since it got delayed.

@  Bass X0 : (21 July 2016 - 03:43 PM)

and what did they do?

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 03:42 PM)

I've cancelled something with them once.

@  Nutjob R/T : (21 July 2016 - 03:27 PM)

AmiAmi is nice but if you preorder you gotta friggin' MEAN it

@  Dracula : (21 July 2016 - 03:17 PM)

Yep, I ordered a bunch of Gundam kits from them earlier this year. The shipping was high but I had to do EMS due to the weight of the package

@  Bass X0 : (21 July 2016 - 03:09 PM)

and amiami is a reputable site? this is the first time i'm using them.

@  Dracula : (21 July 2016 - 02:56 PM)

Oh! Nice. I guess I thought SAL was always untracked.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 01:39 PM)

Registered means it has tracking.

@  Dracula : (21 July 2016 - 01:26 PM)

Yeah it's just slower and doesn't have tracking...usually the best economic option

@  Benbot : (21 July 2016 - 01:07 PM)

SAL is just fine

@  Bass X0 : (21 July 2016 - 01:06 PM)

unless anybody has problems with "SAL Small Packet (Registered)".

@  Bass X0 : (21 July 2016 - 01:03 PM)

Okay, I got it down to 11,930 (£85) with SAL Small Packet (Registered). Thats better. £101 would be too much for two Deluxes and a Voyager even with better (IMO) color schemes.

@  MEDdMI : (21 July 2016 - 01:02 PM)

That's about 101.55 British pounds

@  Bass X0 : (21 July 2016 - 12:58 PM)

Is 14,200 Yen worth it for Takara Skull, Hardhead and Galvatron with shipping to the UK from amiami?

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (21 July 2016 - 11:38 AM)

I doubt anyone takes it seriously that Primax 1005.19 Gamma is indeed the original universe. That author comment is bound to be contradicted by some multiverse story down the road, anyway. Even Vector Prime in AVP said that even if it were true, there is no way for him or his colleagues to discern so, which obviates any substantial impact of "Elegant Chaos".

@  tffan01 : (21 July 2016 - 10:48 AM)

I remember my silly haunted toy thread, 10 people voted 1 star or so sniff http://www.allspark....d-transformers/ I don't believe in haunted stuff but I still made the thread for the lulz.

@  tffan01 : (21 July 2016 - 10:42 AM)

no, he left it ambigious actually.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 10:42 AM)

So someone already contradicted him.

@  Locoman : (21 July 2016 - 10:41 AM)

So really who can say

@  Locoman : (21 July 2016 - 10:41 AM)

But Vector Prime said that it just altered THAT universe's properties, allowing for the development of things like the Functionist world

@  tffan01 : (21 July 2016 - 10:19 AM)

I know he didn't create the IDW universe but he's the writer of one of its titles, that's why I said "his universe".

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 10:15 AM)

Also it's not exactly "his (Roberts') universe" since Barber exists, even if you ignore all the earlier IDW stuff.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 10:13 AM)

And it's specifically the intent rather than something that's actually in the story.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 10:11 AM)

I didn't listen to the podcast but the transcript has a bunch of laughing and he does specify "until someone can contradict me".

@  tffan01 : (21 July 2016 - 09:52 AM)

https://scans-daily....rg/5212318.html http://www.transmiss...ons-episode-94/

@  tffan01 : (21 July 2016 - 09:51 AM)

james roberts says it did.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2016 - 09:43 AM)

Perceptor said that the briefcase made alternate universes possible or something but it's not like Perceptor actually knows how all this works.

The mold itself looks beautiful, but I just don't think it fits Blurr. I like when the design itself fits the character's power/function and a sleeker athletic robot mode + car would be a much better Blurr if you ask me.

Since it was you who created the character - I always wondered, was the 7-shaped antenna on his helmet inspired by the lighting-bolt "antenna" the Flash wears on his costume's ears?

That's funny. I can't draw a straight line to save my life and I still get people commending me for the Wheelimus Prime pic that was on Bigbot back in the day. My name was a joke too people. icon-blitz.gif

I love him and think he's great. He's pretty perfect and one of my favorite Generations molds.

And as far as small retool, sure his head and spoiler don't amount to much, but the two pistols and giant sniper rifle are among the most extensive retools we've received. I mean how often do we get new weapons for a retool? Hardly ever! icon-hotrod.gif

Yeah, off the top of my head, all I can think of recently that got a new weapon with its retool are Movie Evac and that first ROTF Bumblebee.

And I have to say...he really doesn't do it for me as a stand-in. Blurr was a sleek cybertronian sportscar. This Blurr is burly. He's clunky. Other than the head and the color, what really identifies him in a significant way to the G1 figure? Nothing that I can much see.

Nobody looks like Drift does. Yet Drift still had to be repainted. Head and color is the only thing that would identify whoever was the repaint if it wasn't Blurr.

Still, when a character reformats their Cybertronian mode into an Earth mode, you expect there to be changes.

Just because you can't win doesn't mean you stop working.

No sir, I don't like it. Had we never seen nimated Blurr, I think I may have been ok with him (though the head still kills me) but after that beautiful, sleek sculpt Blift looks too chunky and chinny.

But as of now...does this Blurr do it for you as an adequate homage fitting in with the rest of the CHUG(or whatever you may call the amalgamation of G1 homages) figures on your shelf?

No. I don't like the mold anyway, and was massively shocked at how bad it was when I got it as it got so much praise, but for Blurr it is even worse.
I'm also not a fan of the head. It doesn't remind me of G1 Blurr and I'm not a fan of IDW so it's just got no appeal to me.

Instead I prefer Animated Blurr. He reminds me of G1 Blurr and whilst I don't think his proportions clash with Classics personally, any issues people have can be easily passed off as his tech spec heritage.
Plus it looks great next to MP Rodimus.

When Floro Dery visits message boards, it tends to be under fake names, while decrying people for dimishing Floro's many magnificent contributions to the Transformers mythos and daring to suggest someone came up with the concept of a transforming planet before he did.

I was never a big fan of the character (if fact I hated him and he annoyed the living jive out of me) in G1. But he grew on me in Animated, and the TFA toy of him sort of depicts him as he should be. Unfortunately, that toy sucked.

Now this Blurr harkens back to the original by being designed after the IDW version and referencing Animated Blurr in the bio.... me very likey; it takes the best of each Blurr and puts it in one toy. And me very likey even more after reading some of this thread. icon-hotrod.gif

Like many others, I like the toy, but don't like the new head. It just doesn't have that Blurr look to it. I did pick it up though, in the hopes that there will be a third party head created for it to make it look more like the G1 head.

Hiding the hip armor around the back looks pretty cool! Can you still put the rifle on the back when it's like that, and if you point his shoulder armor up does it get in the way? If it isn't a bother could someone put a picture of the hip armor around the back and his shoulder armor pointed up. I'd check, but I'm studying abroad right now and don't have my collection at the moment. (I did, however, find my holy grail TM2 Blackarachnia, whom I have never seen during my childhood icon-silverbolt.gif)

Putting the hip armor around the back doesn't hinder the rifle being placed there at all. There's a perfectly sized space for it still there. Using that configuration hinders lateral shoulder movement, although you'll get some of that back if you point the shoulder armor up. Here's some more pics:

And with the shoulder armor pointing up like some people like to use:
