"Beast Wars anniversary"? Highly dubious.

beast wars dicketeth anniversary

@  Locoman : (25 July 2016 - 07:16 PM)

My story begins in nineteen-dickety-two. We had to say "dickety" because the Kaiser had stolen our word "twenty". I chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles.

@  MEDdMI : (25 July 2016 - 05:51 AM)

@  ▲ndrusi : (24 July 2016 - 07:01 PM)

I thought King Kong '05 was pretty great! I just wish I hadn't watched it as a double feature with that movie about the island with the giant bugs.

@  tffan01 : (24 July 2016 - 04:46 PM)

yeah it was long as hell, it took me several days to finish it.

@  Paladin : (24 July 2016 - 11:58 AM)

maybe this new one won't take half a day to watch all the way through...

@  tffan01 : (24 July 2016 - 11:00 AM)

I believe this new Kong movie will not be as good as the 2005 one.

@  Pennpenn : (24 July 2016 - 08:52 AM)

You'd figure something like that would get a pass, some kind of grandfather clause since the name is already intractably established.

@  Paladin : (24 July 2016 - 08:15 AM)

"DS-1 Orbital Battle Station." That's the official classification...

@  Bass X0 : (24 July 2016 - 08:04 AM)

now that Hasbro can't use the word "Death" on the packaging of their toys, what will they call the Death Star?

@  Whirl Maximus : (24 July 2016 - 07:44 AM)

It's in the comic con trailer and seems like a hideous waste. I guess the show makers have no reverence for Doctor Who like they do Star Trek.

@  Bass X0 : (24 July 2016 - 04:20 AM)

Which is the height of quality for Family Guy jokes...

@  Whirl Maximus : (24 July 2016 - 04:00 AM)

David Tennent has done a cutaway for Family Guy. Don't get to excited it was a fart joke.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 03:17 PM)

"Micronauts: Starring psychic Peter Quill and E123-Omega".

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 03:16 PM)

Ooh, sounds neat.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 01:16 PM)

Yeah, the first was definitely the weakest of the three. Really looking forward to the next issue; judging by the preview for it, it's delving into Karza and Shazraella's past and Microspace's exact political situation.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 01:11 PM)

I was ambivalent about the first issue, but the quality stepped up in the second and again in the third.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 10:37 AM)

And yes, Micronauts is great! I enjoyed the first three issues quite a lot.

@  Sockie : (23 July 2016 - 10:36 AM)

Cave Carson looks really cool as well, so I can't be too saddened about that.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 06:29 AM)

I ended up checking it out, and it's pretty damn neat.

@  Broadside : (23 July 2016 - 06:28 AM)

So. Micronauts, huh?

@  Maruten : (23 July 2016 - 03:49 AM)

Oh, it's only backups in "Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye". Still. Onboard.

Looks pretty swell. If FP was as good at getting the rest of their act together as they are with this year's crop of toys, we'd all be laughing right now.

Ok if I were to be able to buy this toy normally I would in a heartbeat. Hasbro dropped the ball making this a Con exclusive. It's beautiful as Sky-Byte. My biggest curiosity however is the Predacon marking on him? Are we gonna have a crossover event with Sky-byte coming in from R.I.D.? Is this a Beast Wars era Predacon from the future? Man the biggest thing I actually look forward to from botcon every year is the Comic and this year could look to be interesting.

I love they eyes on the "shark" mode.

I'm not a fan of voting on peoples posts. it just seems very passive aggressive to click 'down vote' and not add anything to the thread. and up votes are exactly the same. to my mind the whole point of a forum is discussion and being able to just easily agree or disagree takes the discussion out of the equation.

Does it really matter?

People are excited about this toy because it's Sky-Byte, the hilarious poet from RID. The "official story" could make him into some totally separate character from another dimension (or an analogue or predecessor from the same one, or whatever), and I think 99% of purchasers won't care and will go on considering him to be the Sky-Byte from RID in just a new, different body. SEE ALSO: ROTF Bludgeon, a meaningless nobody who never did anything interesting or important but that everybody loves because they see him as G1 Bludgeon.

I think it's supposed to be the G1/G2 universe counterpart to the RiD character, so he will probably have a similar personality. He's supposed to be one of the earliest Predacons in this continuity. This story still eventually leads to Beast Wars you know, which comes after G2. I hope we see his boss as Razorclaw (in Botcon exclusive form).

Well RID/CR is linked to G1 via Kiss Players, so it could be the same guy (though I think Pete said he was the G1 universe Sky Byte).

Personally I don't hate it, but he has way too much eyebrow/forehead space for my tastes. The helmet really should extend down a little more; this way it makes him look like he's some dude with shaved eyebrows.

I'd say that's the biggest change in this figure from the original toy, and the anime, and kinda throws off the figure...

Well, to be fair it's based heavily on the Stormbringer Bludgeon. But yeah, people were excited about a new Bludgeon even when it was a redeco of Wreckage, because Bludgeon actually needed a good update and the status of the Destructicon version as "good" was highly questionable. People like Sky-byte, but it's not like his original toy was a brickish sub-Basic with a goofy-looking rubber shell.

worked out fine for Skywarp!

"Disabled people donít have special needs. We have very reasonable human needs. Our needs include freedom from abuse, violence, and mistreatment, the right to autonomy and self-direction, the right to represent ourselves, equal opportunity for education and employment, the right to accommodation, and societal inclusion and acceptance.

The need for accommodation isnít a ďspecial needĒ. Itís a basic human right. Itís a leveling of the playing field that allows us the same opportunities and chances as non-disabled people."
