I forsee a lot of complaints that Hasbro isn't making this repaint in the main line. It seems like an obvious repaint choice from Hasbro. Plus this means the club is making three recolors of this mold (SG Magnus, SG Optimus and RiD Scourge), which is a lot of repaints for a not-Seeker mold.

So long as Hasbro does some kind of Nemesis Prime (even/especially with Crystal Skull), I'll be ok. It's not like a hasbro release was going specifically be Scourge/have the upside-down G2 logo anyway.

Saw this on tfw2005. Pics will come Saturday. Scourge will be a repaint of Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime obviously.
You obviously don't follow our Twitter (I tweeted it 3 hours ago) or looked a the other thread where I mentioned it.

It stands to reason that whatever hasbro has planned for the RTS Laser Prime mold includes the skeletor head, So Id rather my Scourge have a prime head.
I hear a lot of chatter of people thinking that Scourge will be the freebie, on account that this is the clubs way of apologising to the members for the CC snafu.
I, however belive it will not be the freebie, and will be one of the ones we buy. Simply because A: Those of us who want it (me included) are more than willing to pay through the nose to get it, and B: We've seen what may very well be packaging art.

I would be really surprised if he was the free figure.
Considering how much of a fan favorite he is I think they wouldn't have any trouble with him selling out.
Personally, I'm still waiting for the G2 Ultra Magnus version of the mold.

Same here.
By way of comparison, I paid
$40 for my textbook for next semester.
Yeah - I'm just buying a Prime off of E-Bay and introducing it to that giant bottle of black paint I bought but never got around to using.* It'd be a heck of a lot cheaper, and I wouldn't have to go to the hassle of trying to get a pre-paid credit card just to register and pay for everything.
*I got a Microman Kicker, and wanted a Misha to go with him. My original plan called for me to purchase a Microman Rei Ayanami School Outfit figure (the vendors I was going through at the time couldn't get rid of her) and paint her up like Misha in her lab attire, but Smalljoes.com found a Microman Acro Elsa in its inventory and I was able to snag it. I just say that Misha's got her own armor now.

And it looks like they're doing him specifically as RID Scourge, in keeping with the hint they gave awhile back that RID fans would get some love soon.
Doing an RID sendup doesn't seem like it was high on Hasbro's list of priorities.

I'm willing to bet a Club one will go as far as they can to keep the colors as much like the original as possible.

You don't have to. I keep preaching VISA giftcards. I buy all my online stuff that wont take paypal with giftcards. I pay an extra $5.95 but I had zero worries when the credit card issues arrose.
Also I am doing backflips right now with a RID toy reveal. If Funpub is bringing a RID theme next year I am all over it. I still think they need to use the Energon Constructicons to make the Build Team.

So far the club's been fitting the RID characters into the Wings universe, which is Sunbow toon based, and already has a Prowl and Brawn.
That said, it also already has a Scourge, so I'll be interested to see how they're going to fit RID Scourge in there without a name clash.

I actually liked the RtS G2 Optimus, but I can't see spending the money on the club this year. I already allotted my budget on the convention toys and I have finally...probably...reached my limit on Transformers for awhile. Spending forty dollars or more for the club will only open myself up to all the Botcon toys for next year...which I am trying to avoid.

I'm afraid Scourge doubly doesn't do anything for me. Both because I have the original and the RTS Prime mold isn't in any way an imrpovement in my eyes, and because I could never figure out a use for the RID one in the first place (as I also already have Nemesis Prime).

I really thought Hasbro had learned from the seeker debacle.
Because making a single popular character from a tangential continuity that has had no retail attention for several years is exactly the same as making three popular characters from a group originating in the main and most well-known continuity and which had seen the rest of their number released at retail the previous year.

Don't misunderstand... I agree that it could have been a retail toy. I'd prefer that too. But comparing it to the Botcon Seekers is silly exaggeration.

No one actually thinks Hasbro was going to make an RID Scourge toy, do they? Hasbro makes Nemesis Primes. Not RID Scourges. That wasn't something that was going to happen. I mean, yes, you can imagine your Nemesis Primes are actually Scourges all you want, but if you want an actual, new, intended Scourge-from-an-Optimus that purposefully honors Robots in Disguise, FunPub was the only way that was going to happen.
