if you were to make a friendship is magic movie
what would you do in it?

Action, drama, suspense, comedy, a nice think plot, new friends & the return of old enemies, Depry named, a revealing of dark secrets and a story for forbidden love! You know, the average show but spanned over a hour and half or even two hours, a lot of story to be told in this one!

And at the end after the credits a lead in to the sequel!

If the third season starts with another villain that needs the Elements of Harmony together, then it'd be that villain teaming up with Discord and the evil essence of Nightmare Moon. Would be cooler if there were three other main villains to make it six versus six tho.

Introduce other pony types too like sea ponies and the butterfly types (from the original movie which can defeat the schmooze). Sea ponies are akin to earth ponies and butterfly ponies are like Pegasus so maybe a third type for unicorns. Maybe ghost or day dream ponies, spirit type ponies as a counterpoint to night mares.

Flutterponies.

And they should be introduced with the Schmooze just like last time. But I could do without the Grundles.

A movie would have to be bigger and have more emotional punch than an episode.

I'm thinking something centred on Twilight; by the end of the movie, she is no longer Celestia's apprentice.

Ooh, maybe dip into the alternate universe that some fan-artists have suggested; a world in which Nightmare Moon succeeded in conquering Equestria. We could finally see a full-strength showdown between Celestia and Nightmare Moon, both at the apex of their power (complete with Nightmare-infected doubles of the mane six). The only exception is Twilight Sparkle herself, who was defeated in the other universe. Instead, Nightmare Moon courts "our" Twilight, trying to corrupt her power for Nightmare's own ends (thus giving us more Crazy-Twilight on the big screen).

Twilight saves the day by realizing that neither side can ever win totally; doing so would destroy both universes. The only way to end conflict (any conflict) is with Harmony. Both universes are merged into one, with Celestia and Luna sacrificing themselves to seal Nightmare Moon away forever, and the throne of Equestria is left open for a new Princess, one who balances both the Light and the Dark.

We could even get a bittersweet epilogue, with Princess Twilight writing one last letter to Princess Celestia, knowing that she'll never read it.

There'd be ponies in it.

It'd have the (Occasionally violent) romance between Angel and Opalescence as a consistent background theme. Think Scratch from Ice Age. Well, a little more subtle than that.

A ponified Megan gets a cameo (Midnight castle version, because (H*g is such a silly way to censor...) that frilly frill frillyness of frill).

I'd avoid 'Epic' plots like my life depended on it. The show doesn't do particularly well when it's trying them. A mild level thereof - Dragonshy, Feeling Pinkie Keen - works well. 'Epic' on the level of the season pilots... Uh, I'll pass. Consequently, any 'Epic' plotlines receive plenty o' padding by way of slice of life/ mane cast interaction - the mane cast has lives outside of questing, thank you very much.

Ponified Dan vs. cameo. Because the Hub commercials with him and Pinkie worked pretty damn well if you ask me.

Did I mention it'll feature ponies? Cute, adorable, pastel-coloured ponies. Dozens, maybe hundreds of them!

I definitively like where this is going...

Or we could do an hour and a half long story line where in the CMC accidentally summon the smooze. Everybody gets screen time, they face a threat that is grandiose but also that the princesses have had no prior dealings with.

They could make it a repeat of the 80's Transformers animated movie by killing off everyone's favorite characters in the first third of the film to make way for a new toy line....

I'm sorta thinking someone's already made a complete fanfic of this already, haha.

On the movie following the 80's TF movie, the mane 6 wouldn't die, the smooze whatever would just incapacitate them. Would be cool if the Cutie Mark Crusaders stepped up and saved the day and would finally get their cutie marks.

Flutterponies! A whole race of Fluttershys! Woo!

Borrowing a cue from the mentioned TF:TM, start the movie off with a serious threat over-riding the heroes leading to a sequence where Celestia tears through the main force and takes on the center command element to a rocking "Pump-up" tune to envoke the fist-pumping "hug YEAH!!!!!!!"s from the audience just to show HOW powerful she really is.

Of course after said sequence, Celestia is naturally sidelined for the rest of the film leaving the cast (show regulars and new comers) to handle the follow-up problem(s).

Hell, the "Rainbow of Darkness" is just screaming to be a movie McGuffin.

It needs to have a main theme song where the singers pronounce unicorn as "Unicron".

Not to mention Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, & Applejack. If one must go, they all will, but Pinkie Pie will survive since apparently comic relief characters aren't as expendable.

How about Fluttershy being revealed to be the last of Flutterpony royal family, she does have a similar color scheme to Rosedust.

It would be pretty anti-comedic to remove or get rid of the comedic relief.

That, and Pinkie follows the Warner Brothers school of cartoons, thus making her effectively immortal.

From what I gathered so far, most of the ponies are immortal. I don't think we seen a death yet, only the looming threat of such.

We saw it in Hearts and Hooves Day.

Yeah, the funeral Sweetie interrupted seemed proof enough.

They just live far, far longer than we do, if Granny Smith is any indication.

Obviously, The Elements have become corrupted and must be destroyed in the fires of Mount Smooze from which they were forged. Along the way the mane 6 encounter adventures and horrors beyond their imaginations!.


And Derpy...lots of Derpy.

Unserious post: They should have a portal open to a dark mirror universe where the characters are all mean-spirited and make each other miserable, Rarity is a war veteran with PTSD, Twilight is a crazy anime fangirl, Fluttershy is an evil cult leader, Pinkie Pie dabbles in dangerous arcane magic, AJ is a stupid hick, Rainbow Dash is pretty much exactly the same, and everyone abuses Spike.


That's so funny. Because Dragonforce writing and recording a song specifically for the movie is on my actual list of things I want to see happen.

Specifically, them doing the MLP:FIMtM theme. Just like what Lion did for the Transformers theme in Transformers: The Movie.

Eh, no. I'm sorry, but the Friendship Is Magic theme is not interesting enough to merit that sort of treatment. Especially if they try to stretch it out by adapting the long version that was featured on the DVD, which I hear is pretty stupid. Given the events of the more action-heavy episodes of the show so far and what all else has been hinted at about its world, Dragonforce would have a ton of good material to work with for an original song that's very similar in tone and theme to their usual work.

Would the movie have Weird Al music?

It needs 80s music. Lots of 80s music.

Imagine a Weird Al version of the MLP theme. . . that gradually transitions into an Apocalyptica style-tribute talking about Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Changelings. . .

I would definitely want a movie to up the stakes a lot. I want Earn Your Happy Ending to be in full effect.

Could the movie really have a more epic villain then Queen Chrysalis?

Of course. How about someone with an epic backstory? I know it's been done twice already, but not as well as could be done with a longer running time.

or perhaps the epic villain could be queen chrysalis

She has potential. She just needs to learn not to go straight into Bond Villain mode when she reveals herself. She did great until that point.

It seems rather short thinking to involve in already used villain.

Or maybe they'll just reuse a plot from one of those CG barbie princess movies.

But with horrible monsters thrown in for good measure.

I'd love if they just recast the old Smooze movie with this group of ponies

I'd prefer something written from scratch.
