http://battlebeasts.infernalmachinery.com/They look pretty cool right now. The ram is pretty cool, but I'll wait for it in color.

I need Fire, Water, Wood, and Sunburst logos for maximum nostalgia activation!
Also the aligator minimate looks kinda awful. Hoping for more from these.
-ZacWilliam, but give me a bada$$ looking Pirate bat, cyborg flying squirel and weird things like that and maybe we'll talk...

Yeah, the alligator was pretty bad. It looks like they've gone ahead and refined their character styles since they released those alligators though. As the Ram looks pretty swank.

This is why I love elastic shorts.
Seriously though, this is extremely promising. I'm especially pumped about the fiction they seem to be working on. Who knows where that can go, but I've been waiting for a great Battle Beasts story my entire life. And that Ram looks great from what I can see.
What a cock tease though. New site but no new, finished, figures to debut alongside it?
The waiting continues.

Have you seen the old Blackthorne comics from the 1980s? There are scans on the LittleRubberGuys.com forums, it's... interesting.

I never knew about it until recently and it's a fun (brief) read since it got axed pretty quick. Oh and it's B&W.
...I'm a Beast Whore and I am probably the only person who seems to like all the gators.

I got 'em hanging out next to my regular Beasts and they're all quite happy. Between these and Bot Shots and OMFGs it's a good year for small stuff.

Oh yeah, I own them. And no, I love the gator too. I only have the SDCC version, I figure he's enough (I know, I'm trying to convince myself I don't need the others), but I enjoy him. I'm pumped to see what lies ahead as far as toys go. Too bad the full reveal isn't at C2E2, that'd be
too perfect I imagine.

I'm glad that they're still doing these as Minimates. Having them be little dudes is kind of crucial to me.

Awesome inside source!!
Or they were too lazy to look up the name while writing the piece and forgot to add it after.

I wonder if they're going to Headmasters it up and have the Battle Beasts be a part of the IDW Transformers-verse.

Did you guys see Beast Saga yet? A guy who runs a French BB blog emailed me some scans overnight.
Check them out here, according to the scans it seems to be a TakaraTomy line and dang if those little chest symbols don't remind me a little of Bot Shots.

I had seen character designs for them, but not the actual toys.
Now having seen the toys... I'm not sure what to think. The detail that they put into the fur is leaving them a bit unpleasantly lumpy, in my eyes.

Come winter time, they'll be able to do the roads with all that grit.

Better pics later, but I just got back from C2E2 and picked up this bad boy.
If you read the comic you know his name is Vorin, and he's pretty sweet. The detail is hard to see, but its there. The best parts are that his head is a full molded piece, unlike the alligator; his proportions are better and his lower legs one piece, another good change from the alligator. He's got a shield and a sword, and chest and waist armor.
I'm really pleased with him and looking forward to these guys done up the way they're meant to be. A genuine, fitting return could be in store for these bad boys.

Seems like Takara Tomy are also making their updated version of the Battle Beasts.

http://www.facebook.com/theallspark#!/...0600&type=1And it's much cooler, from what I can see in the other thread.
It's got an actual game like the originals, and chest symbols, and original stlyle designs and quirkyness, and no grim and gritty Image style comic.
Yeah. All my intrest in the Minimates is officially gone.
-ZacWilliam, kinda hoping Hasbro brings those over and these are pushed aside for them. Not to be mean to the minimates folks, but those others are what I really want in Battle Beasts.

My beast army is going to be ridiculous.

I'd like a denser sword, something more stable. Maybe the final version won't be so floppy. I doubt it, but that's my only nitpick.

Well, I must say I like these better, I just wish we had more pics of the toys and knew what is coming.
However if the comic is any indication, than I'll be an avid collector of this line.

Love how they gave variety to the body sizes too, that walrus guy is awesome (and I smell a Longtooth kitbash there...) I also like the enemies on page 3. The scorpion is just great with those many eyes near the mouth...
The Takara toys are not doing it for me at all - I was never a fan of the old-style beasts either, and those retain the same cartoony simplicistic style and lack of articulation. They look like... Sylvanian Family or Hello Kitty compared to the more realistic Minimates. This ram for example, he has proper digitigrade legs and the limbs are the right size - the old toys and the new takara ones have short legs and oversized arms with only articulation at the waist.
